We had a great experience last night. Arrived 10 min before close (so sorry!) and they graciously welcome all 17 of us with warm
smiles. The food was delicious, seating great, but the service was amazing. Thank you so much for your warm hospitality!

Pastor is the best thing I tried, carnitas could be grilled but there's nothing dry about it like another reviewer mentioned. Tacos are 2.5, everything else is a deal compared to around here. This is the spot for me in SLT

The chili verde quesadilla was hands down the best Mexican food I've had anywhere. Highly recommend this place if you're looking for authentic food at good prices.

Large portions, fresh and always tasty. Hostesses are friendly and helpful, service is quick and accurate. This is our second visit this week, easily becoming our favorite restaurant in SLT! Fajita burritos are amazing, you have to try one, especially if regular fajitas make you nuts trying to get everything in one bite. This wraps it all up so you get all that yummyness in each bite and not drip it all over your front!

Ate here with my roommate and we didn't enjoy it. Absolutely horrible of management to say we are "demanding" because we stated our opinion that we were disappointed with the size and taste of the food!

$6.50 shrimp taco the size of 3 of my fingers, tiny shrimps and tortilla only. That's it.

So good for authentic Mexican food in south lake! Family owned and they were all so sweet as well! We will be back!

In town for the weekend and was looking for a good mexican restaurant. Los Portales did not disappoint at all. The food and service were both excellent! The cashier was incredibly welcoming and kind. Will definitely be returning every time we come in town.

Fantastic! Visiting from New Mexico, really enjoyed our burritos here, they had a great authentic flavor.

Great Mexican joint! Order at the counter, they bring it to you, and all the food was just as good as it looks in the pictures! The aguas frescas were also fantastic.

Nothing better in all of tahoe. The El pastor is phenomenal and the staff are the nicest people.

Solid Mexican food in South Lake Tahoe at reasonable prices. Our only complaint was that the carnitas were a bit on the dry side. Get three tacos for $12 and a plate of loaded nachos with a meat of your choice for $10.50. The staff were all super friendly too. We'd recommend a visit if you're craving Mexican food while visiting South Lake Tahoe!

That was one of the best burritos ive ever had, super good service and food for a decent price. I rate them 10 out of 10

Absolutely amazing! Popped in and it wasn’t too busy, the staff was incredibly friendly. The food though, we had 5 different taco types and they’re some of the best tacos I’ve ever had. They’re small so I’d recommend getting 3 or even 4 if you’re hungry.

They taste incredible and give you a feeling of home. I’d recommend the pollo and pastor tacos the most. The chicken tacos illicit the same feeling ad home made chicken soup.

Also the decor is amazing and super clean! We happened to see the hostess clean one of the tables and she was super industrious about it.

Will come again!
