Lost Winds Dive Shop reviews
17This place has a great selection of stuff for freediving and spearfishing. Cory and Nathan have always been super helpful, showing and explaining to us the items they have and then giving us clear directions on the use and care of the (many) items we've bought!
This place is amazing! I was having a hard time finding a mask to fit my girlfriends face and stumbled across this shop. Boy am I glad I did! First I found a great mask for her and some other great gear at reasonable prices, but later I met the best dive instructor ever! Matteo is an instructor based out of lost winds dive shop. I have now taken 2 separate advanced PADI courses from Matteo and both times he was extremely knowledgeable and a great teacher. He made me feel comfortable and most importantly safe! Even was I was pushing the boundaries of my own comfort I knew Matteo was there for me. He has a unique ability to address all diver levels from beginners to advanced divers. I have two more courses to take, my goal is to become an instructor and I couldn’t imagine doing it with another instructor. Lost Winds your instructor selection is amazing! Matteo is a huge asset to your establishment! Stay wet! Stay safe! Keep diving!
All the guys at Lost winds are down to earth and will set you up with whatever gear or training you need. Hit up Mateo for scuba he will hook you up and you’ll have a blast learning from him.
Super helpful and friendly staff. A lot of inventory. Fair prices. Not much more you can ask for. Will drive from HB to lost winds any day of the week and pass other shops along the way to get here. Keep up the great work Lost Winds.
I found this dive shop last year and they were so informative that I came back this year. The staff and owner are good to deal with. I would recommend them to anyone. And to all my friends.
I called them because there had been a small mix-up with an order that they were fulfilling from Amazon. They helped me rectify the issue in no time then gave me some detailed knowledge about the fins that I ordered which I wouldn't have known and had trouble finding online. They definitely know their stuff. To top it all off, they called me to verify the details when I ordered the replacement fins to make sure that everything was exactly how I wanted. I definitely recommend Lost Winds!
Just got myself set up with my initial bcd, regulators, tanks, fins, mask for scuba diving. Eric the owner is great. Customer service and affability is off the charts. This place has everything you need for scuba and spear fishing or lobster diving. I got lucky and took advantage of the 20% off for Black Friday event they had going. Eric is a Legit diver so he knows his stuff. Great selection, especially considering the supply chain issues. They do tank refills here as well. You can get a 10 fill card for $50. Prices were great overall as well. Shop local you’ll be stoked.
Lost Winds is one of those establishments that as soon as you walk in you feel welcomed. From the staff taking the time to answer any questions you may have, to the vast amounts of options in equipment tailored to your needs as a diver. One hundred percent will be a returning customer.
Love this place. Very knowledgeable staff and great prices on the best products on the market.
It was a very nice place and the owner of the shop was very helpful, and very knowledgeable about any questions we had.
Charged me a $43 "restocking fee" for an item that was never even taken out of the box. It was returned within 24 hours of receiving it.
WOW. Where do I begin, the story starts with me being a free diver and living in Hawaii. I started last year and wanted to upgrade to DiveR fins in carbon fiber for more performance in the water and also my gateway into spearfishing. These guys have received multiple phone calls and text messages from me and every single staff member that has answered the phone has been excellent. I never leave reviews on anything simply because I forget quickly about a good experience however, I had to leave this shop a review due to the phenomenal service they have provided me while also wanting to help support this kind of customer service. I could have gone to a local shop here in Hawaii which there are plenty to choose from but every time I tried to go to a different shop I was greeted with rude and unprofessional attitudes and personalities on top of getting robbed with their high mark ups and then beg you to support them. Long story short The Lost Winds shop has helped me every step of the way and they gave me the best price and deals every time, I am truly jealous I don’t have them around but at least they ship for free! Not to mention they always ship my stuff the same day and literally get to Hawaii no less than 3 days, they are awesome!
Lost Winds Dive Shop got me into spearfishing and freediving over 3 years ago when they first opened. Since then, I’ve come back time and time again for one simple reason- they care. I’ve shopped around at several other dive shops across the country and I’ve never encountered a staff that is so willing to go out of their way to assist a customer.
My friend and I attended Eric’s PADI Basic Freediver course this past summer. Eric worked around both of our complicated work schedules to ensure we received top-notch instruction and maximized the training value of the course. I would highly recommend this course to anyone interested in getting into spearfishing or freediving.
Eric and his crew are always willing to help a customer. Be it with some tips for a good dive spot, how to predict good dive conditions, or what gear you’ll need to get the job done- these guys have got you covered.
I’ve since moved over to the East Coast and can’t swing by the shop as easily as before. Nonetheless, Lost Winds will always be my first choice for any dive gear. Keep up the good work guys!
I bought online on this shop. But that doesn't matter, I'm sure going there is even better. They are a small shop, but they were really great doing everything to send my product and to get it on time.
Something you can't get on big online shops you'll get it on this one. Love them and I'll definitely buy again if they have the product I want it
Signed up for the PADI free dive course and was very pleased with both the material and training. Our guide was very friendly, knowledgeable, and thurough from beginning to end. And I would recommend this program and help support this local business again.
Excellent service, great product, and made even my online purchase feel appreciated. Thank you!
Super helpful, had lots of local info. Let me use their superglue and answered any questions I had.
