Botanical Garden Lotusland reviews
19One of the best places if you enjoy plants. Strongly suggest going with a docent. I have done the walk multiple times and learned something different each time. The scenery change every season
Reservation ONLY - this information is not displayed prominently enough online. Additionally the true open days / hours are not accurately communicated on maps or on their own website. Arrived at the gate to find the entrances shut… Called to see if I could make an impromptu reservation and was only then informed they were closed that day…by all other accounts online, they were marked as open. Went out of the way and planned around this info that should be accurate, up to date, and readily available to prospective visitors.
Lovely private gardens with very limited acess, guided or by yourself, taking about 1.5 hours to see the whole thing at a leisurely pace (and they will kick you out if you try to stay longer than two hours!)
I'm afraid Lotusland is sold out for the rest of the year but get tickets now if you'll be nearby in 2024. It's absolutely dazzling. Take a guided tour so you won't miss anything. My favorite features were the Japanese garden and the Blue garden-not flowers but blue plants like agave and spruce. This former opera singer had great taste!
Had the pleasure of hosting my 360 Photo Booth at this venue. I had an amazing time. The grounds are so clean. The facility team is rad. I love it here!
Unfortunately it was on weekend and didn't have reservations. If you're planning to get here have reservation. From outside it's a huge place but can't even get any glimpse.
Excellent facility and guides!
Need more horticulture care but all in all in great shape for all these years of existence
A curated garden/collection is an understatement. At every step, in every direction there is a view to behold. Magnificent.
Wow. I have been wanting to go to Lotusland for years and I wish I had gone much sooner. Incredible tour with our knowledgeable docent. It’s hard to pick a favorite garden as they are all impressive, one after another. On the tour we walked an easy, flat two miles (bring comfy shoes and a hat or parasol). If you’ve been thinking of visiting, do it!
I’ve been visiting lotus land since I was a kid and now I have kids that I bring to visit the property. It’s beautiful and peaceful.
Remarkable collection of flora from around the world in a luscious sprawling estate. MUST make a reservation. Bring walking shoes and wear sunscreen.
The website, or at least the mobile site, is glitchy. You will discover this if you try to make reservations. I attempted to make reservations for 6/03/23. I clicked on that date and paid $100 for reservations for two people. The glitchy website ended up making the reservation for 4/26/23, not 6/03/23. I didn't discover the error until after 4/26/23. I called Lotusland and explained what happened. I did not ask for a refund. I simply asked if I could come another day with the reservations for which I paid $100. I was given a hard no. $100 down the drain. Worst customer service I've ever come across.
Very beautiful garden worth every penny we will definitely come back! The cactus garden are in bloom right now perfect timing
It was amazing but felt very rushed that I couldn't truely enjoy the magnificence of it.
We were treated to a tour with the wonderful docent Duane. The grounds are beautiful and the stories were fascinating. A delightful way to spend a morning in Monticito.
Loris is The Best docent! Great, botanically based, fabulous history. #cppagriculture #losrobles had a grand time!
Lovely botanical experience to share with friends and family. Exceptional grounds and staff. Cannot wait for next visit.
A treasure for sure! We thoroughly enjoyed our knowledgeable docent who told us everything about the history and variety of plants and trees we were seeing. 37 acre botanical garden created over the last 100 years. Buy tickets online and EARLY.
