Loulou's Griddle In the Middle reviews
18The staff was absolutely awesome. They treat you like you're a old friend coming over to their house for a Sunday breakfast. It's small but cozy, the wait was completely worth it. The kids had fun singing along with the staff and watching the food be prepared right in front of them.
This place is just lovely. It’s a small spot - we did have to wait about an hour on a Sat morning, however we walked around and enjoyed exploring the Wharf while we waited, so it wasn’t a big deal. Also by the time we wrapped up closer to 1pm it looks like the wait for new parties softened.
Absolutely loved the food. Crab cakes and potatoes were cooked to a perfect crisp. My mom and sister had French toast, for which they had sourdough as an option, yum. My nephew had a hub cap pancake and was so thrilled about it! Might’ve been the largest pancake he has seen in his 4 years haha.
Big thank you to the folks who work there. Staff was so warm and friendly to us and my young nephew! Loved it!
Want a gem of the breakfast restaurant/location. I loved the entire experience, and of course, the food was extraordinary.
Such a great experience. It’s tiny, but mighty! The staff was all so wonderful - great servers & the chef was singing along to a fantastic playlist. Do not attempt to eat a pancake by yourself - bring reinforcements! They’re enormous. Crab cakes were delish as were the home fries with fresh pico garnish. We loved every minute of our time at Lou Lou’s.
Great good, reasonable prices. The servers are great and on top of things. It's a small place, but it is worth the wait. Everything we had was excellent. Oatmeal Brulee, Clam chowder, Hubcap pancake, Crab Cakes.
The food was good, except for the country potatoes. The potatoes taste like old oil. I had a mimosa with guava juice, and it was good. If you order pancakes or French toast, make sure you share. Otherwise, it can be overwhelming because the portions are huge. I gave 4 starts because of the way the potatoes tasted. It was full when I got there and it was still full when I left. The place is right by the water and boats. Cool little/small place for breakfast. I recommend 100%.
Breakfast special and omelet was on point I liked to see what was being made in front of me all the ladies were friendly definitely coming back
Small but delightful place on Monterey's commercial wharf. Outdoor seating with views of Monterey Bay. Everything delicious, especially giant pancakes!
The staff was friendly and the food was good except for the country potatoes they tasted like old oil. However, I do recommend this place.
Best breakfast I have ever eaten. Everything on the menu is flawless. Worth the wait, prices are fair. Atmospheric and food are perfect. Wonderful to see masters at work in the kitchen and front of house.
Soooooo good! This place is a treat. The food was so yummy. On the old fisherman wharf and just fantastic. The staff is welcoming and fun. It will be a regular breakfast stop when I’m in the beautiful town of Monterey.
The service was incredible! They were very accommodating and kind and attentive. The food was also really delicious. I got the crab cakes and my husband ordered the squiddle & eggs. Perfect crisp and tenderness. YUM!
Best breakfast joint in Monterey- the staff are all incredible, they make the place so lively and I love watching Josie cook! If you get a chance to get breakfast here do it, though there’s usually a bit of a wait since it’s a little small, but it’s worth the wait. My only complaint is I don’t get to come here nearly as much as I want since I’m usually going to work when they’re open, so I have to walk by all the delicious smells.it’s me and my boyfriends favorite place to eat in Monterey, and he’s a born and raised local so we got high standards for our favorite restaurants. The food is always incredible! I dream of their house made sausage and of course the pancakes.
Unique experience and awesome food. The staff is efficient and the Chef knows what she's doing. The secret seasoning on the potatoes is special. Potatoes are cut fresh. Hubcap pancake defeated me, good luck to you!
I was defeated by breakfast. The hubcap pancake was so big I couldn't finish it, a first for me.
Cool unique atmosphere with friendly staff. We went on a Monday around 11 and only waited about 5 minutes to get seated.
The only complaint I would have is price.
Had an excellent omelet with crab, Bay shrimp & mushrooms! So good. My son had the hubcap chocolate chip pancake. Couldn't finish it all.ate on it for 2 days! So good! And love the location!
Went for breakfast.
Local people come to eat rice from morning
It is a very busy shop.
I ordered a pancake with fruits recommended by the staff, cinnamon French toast, coffee, and orange juice.
As you can see in the picture, the pancake with fruit is very large and can be eaten by two adults.
Since it contains fruits, it has a slightly sour taste.
I ate it without getting tired of it.
Cinnamon French toast also has a good taste with honey.
The coffee was delicious and not too bitter.
The staff was very bright and the service was good.
When you come to Santa Cruz, please come and eat these pancakes.
I loved this small little restaurant on the warf! The food was way beyond the norm and very reasonably priced.
