Lower Otay Reservoir reviews
15 After all the rain, my visit was expectacular, mountains fresh n green. Lake is beautiful clean.
A blessed time!
So relaxing. Quiet and the sun was perfect today. Good country music with my son and grandson. Much needed today.
My elderly dad and I decides to go fishing something we have not done since I was 9 years old. I have called this place no answer for the last 5 business days yes even weds and Saturday. So since no one answered I went off what the website informed us. I bought a one day license for both of us just to come today and find out that they're closed 2nd Wednesday of the month which was not on their website!
Food was not that warm. People didn't seem like they really knew what they were doing. Not that happy. Wasn't terrible but it wasn't great
Great place to get some fishing done! The staff at the concession stand are really nice and helpful! Lots of snacks and other things to refuel with. Even have some nice emergency tackle gear!
I got kicked out before 7 old guy said he’s by him self when I already seen a few other staff members let people fish
My gf says.great place for a picnic in the shade or just to get away.took her mom on a cruise around the lake in our truck.beautiful day. Saw Olympic training center and glider field.will be back!
Fished here for 2 hours with my kids. Used real bait and all that good stuff. We didn't catch anything. As we were packing up to leave a man came with his kid. In the 15 minutes it took us to pack up he caught 2 fish.using hotdogs.its a nice spot to fish! I'll be bringing hot dogs next time! Hah!
This place offers fantastic prices for full day boat rentals (especially considering we're in SD). The lake is large and peaceful, but not many fish out biting when we've visited (we saw some larger ~12") fish, but they weren't hungry. The staff at front office and at the docks are friendly and helpful. This spot is a hidden treasure of SD
Great place to explore, quiet, lots of space, picnic areas, restrooms, fishing, boating, bike trails. Walking areas are great there. Playground for kids a new outdoor movie theater coming
Nice Bass if you are in the right place at the right time throwing the right bait at the right speed and the right depth. Fishing can be fun.
Easy access trails, lovely views across the lake, ample fishing access, and great kayaking. Have also grilled here a few times - there are several grills and tables spaced out near the bait shop. Plenty of Porta Potties and a clean restroom available for all-day visits.
Had an extremely rude experience here with one of the employees.
Came here to fish with my dog, and one of the wardens or employees said "the dog is fine right now, but don't bring him again, we don't allow that kind"
My dog is properly trained and was sitting down through the whole exchange of words. He further explained the water is the "source of drinking water in the raw stage", yet they allow boats? Not sure what his deal was but I won't be returning here and God forbid you have a Pitbull that behaves well.
Serene place either lots of flora & fauna to watch and admire.
Boat launch open Wed. -Sat. -Sun.
Walk in and enjoy the trails around the water and by the dam.
Although you CANNOT swim in the lake it is beautiful. They have a park for picnics with playgrounds. Also a few hiking trails.
