Lucinda's Deli & More reviews
15Took 3 people over 30 minutes to make a sandwich with four ingredients and there was no one else there.very bizzare.
Hanging around Alamo square and feeling peckish? Want to try the City’s best roast beef and blue cheese with fried onion sandwich? Well you’d better place an order online because you aren’t the only one! Lucinda’s deli makes fantastic sandwiches made to order. If you do decide to walk in, they also have a fully staffed espresso bar so you can have a latte while you wait with the crowd outside. But as usual in SF, the wait is worth it
My new fav sandwich place in SF, and I’ve been to many. Phenomenal. Pricey but it’s cuz they pack these sandos full of fantastic, high quality ingredients.
Highly recommend the roast beef!
I just had the roast beef sandwich as it is ordered (ble cheese mayo, crunchy onions.) DELICIOUS, HIGHLY RECOMMEND!
Great sandwich, incredibly filling portion. Expected "pretty good, " received "genuinely great. " I got the "BLTA" and it was as good as any BLT-adjacent I've ever had.
Great sandwiches! Super fresh ingredients! Love the Baja Turkey and the B. L. T. A! Only thing, if you’re there on a weekend, be prepared to wait about 20 minutes! Otherwise enjoy!
Got the spicy tuna and hot pastrami. Liked the arugula and interesting pickled onions and pickled cauliflower and bell peppers. However, the flavor balance was off. More spice and pickle dominant vs the protein (tuna and pastrami).
Price is about 50% higher than average. Sub shop in West Portal is $12 a sandwich vs $18-$19 bucks at Lucinda’s. IMHO, the arugula and pickles is not worth the extra $6 bucks.
Location is convenient to the park which is a plus.
If you do go, order online. We had to wait 15 minutes for ours and watched sandwiches sitting there waiting for pickup.
This sandwich shop is must stop off if you're on your way to the Almeda Square Park. No substitutions are permitted, but you won't mind! The combinations are delicious. The space also has a coffee bar with great local coffees and sweet/savory treats. If you arrived minutes before closing, you'll get a free baked good.my timing was perfect, and my sandwich was delicious.
The roast beef sandwich is INCREDIBLE. I don’t usually like blue cheese but it wasn’t overwhelming and went perfectly with the caramelized onions!
Always drive by here from school commute and decided to visit today! First time a sandwich knocked me out a 2 hour nap. Cheese and apple portions were insane in the prosciutto Gotta return to try the other ones
Lucinda's Deli was just right around the corner from my pal'et's house and once we were finished taming her get go, it was time for lunch. You'd be hard pressed to find a better deli sandwich in the city than Lucinda's Feli & More. They were perfect in every way, 5 stars
Delicious sandwich but overpriced ($20), even for SF. I ordered the Sopressata and it was packed with salami, tomato, artichoke cream cheese, and other quality ingredients so I'll give it that but I have had many other sandwiches in the city just as good for nearly half the price. Would love to return to this deli for my park picnic sandwiches but unfortunately that price tag will have me going elsewhere.
I ordered a Soppressata Sandwich. It was alright, but there was way too much balsamic vinegar on it, so the bread got soggy by the time I ate it.
Lucinda’s has really tasty food, but today I experienced for the second time a failure in operations that left me with a bad taste in my mouth. We spent 15 minutes deciding our online take out order and when we finally went to confirm order (after entering all credit card and other info), we are hit with a message saying “orders are no longer being accepted. ” This was 2 hours before closing, at 2pm on a Saturday. I understand if they’re so absurdly busy they can’t take orders, but that should be an extremely rare situation. Also to allow us to put things in the cart and enter credit card info plus tip, to then at the very last step say they can’t accept an order is really frustrating. This has happened before and I shrugged it off, but 2 times now means it wasn’t a fluke. To then also not have a phone number or way to speak to a human- this system is flawed and needs to be fixed. Will add more stars if this doesn’t happen again or is addressed in the future.
First visit here, we ordered few sandwiches to go. Sandwiches are little pricy, however it was worth it, they were really tasty and big portion. It is quite a busy space. You have to use near by street parking. Apart from sandwiches you can also buy drinks, chips and coffee.
