Lumberjacks Redding reviews
15This is my second visit to this restaurant. I was not happy with the food to include temperature of potatoes or gravy. The marinara for fried cheese sticks was a blob of cold sauce that had been spooned out of a jar-terrible! Portions were not adequate, some of which had to be returned due to being cold 3 times!
Never disappointed. Will literally spend $100s here in one sitting to take food home with me. Great portions and decent pricing. Always have a friendly server here over the last 3 years of coming here.
I used to love eating at Lumberjacks. The quality, taste and freshness of the food has declined. Tonight, I ordered the Tri-Tip sandwich, baked potato, and clam chowder. I rarely complain. The past two times were awful. Everything tasted bad. The Tri-Tip was like leather. It was so tough, I could barely chew it. The potato was hard, cold, and tasted like it had been sitting all day. The clam chowder soup was cold and tasted old. I realize sometimes thing just go wrong. However, after spending over $23.00 for dinner for one meal it was just not worth it. The prices are not worth going here. The food is subpar.
Everything was wonderful, the wait staff was amazing! We had a party of 9 people and we were seated and served very quickly. Food was very good, comfort food and prepared perfectly. Definitely would go back!
It's always a pleasure to eat here when I'm in town. My mother law loves eating here. The people are friendly, and greetings make you feel special.
Been dining here for a few years now off and on. My favorite place in Redding. Really large portions for a good price and perfect for someone that needs to eat a lot from being active like a football player or a firefighter. My favorite has to be the ham and egg breakfast. Well-sized ham, half a plate of my favorite hash browns and two eggs with an english muffin as my choice of toast. Wonderful atmosphere too with several tvs with different programs and bright, friendly lighting. Definitely coming back after college to eat again
This is definitely the best diner in Redding. The atmosphere is great both inside and out, and the food is abundant, to say the least! My grandkids love it and it's totally wheelchair accessible, which is great for me! Be prepared for take-out boxes on the ride home. Not even my teenage son can finish his Paul Bunyan size plate.
The food was good! The staff are nice and pleasant. It's a busy location and although they are short staffed, everyone did a great job to ensure all the customers were taken care of in the best timeframe they were able to manage.
I had the taco salad which was amazing! The best taco salad that I have had in a very long time. It was two meals for me, well worth the $15.99. My Aunt had breakfast and my son had a 1/2lb sourdough cheeseburger w bacon and mushrooms. My gram had the soup and half sandwich which she liked but said the soup was ruined (had carrots in the split pea w ham). My gram is 92 and is the one who taught me to make split pea soup and being her granddaughter, I have to agree, carrots don't belong in split pea soup.
The food and service were great. The price was a little bit high. I've been to other places in town for breakfast and hands down this is the best.
The chicken friend steak is SO good. Everything was cooked to perfection. I also love that you can sub the toast with your order out for a pancake, I subbed mine for the new pumpkin pancake as per my server Tori’s recommendation.it was delightful. The server check on us a lot, and the coffee is great!
SHOULD BE AVOIDED
Absolutely the worst food I’ve eaten from a restaurant in a very long time. It came out cold and flavorless, the waitress was not interested in service in the slightest. Surprisingly expensive for the extremely poor quality of food.
Wife and I go in for our Anniversary. We wanted a friendly atmosphere and we got it. Our server was amazing! She was friendly, hospitable, and it really made you feel welcome. I ordered the Redwood 1lb burger and it's immensity caught me off guard. It was huge! I had to cut it into sections and eat it as smaller burgers. But it was worth every bit. I took most of it back home to eat on for a while. It's genuinely big. Anyway. The whole reason I decided to write this is we ordered the blackberry cobbler. Let me just say the blackberry is transformed into the most pleasant array of flavors that compliment each other entirely. Very well done. Thanks for helping us make the day great!
Had to wait several minutes to order. I ordered to go, & watched my food sit on the counter for 7 or 8 minutes, while everyone just kept walking by it. I finally had to ask if it was mine, & only then they packed it up for me, not even apologizing. I ordered their early bird special, & they charged me full price. Food was good though.
Great food. Great workers. Sometimes a little crowded. A lot of the older locals and etc like to come here. The food is good and the price is fair so it would make sense why the cone here.
Parking is horrendous. It's at the intersection of a very populated and crowded main road that is 200 feet away from the main freeway that runs through the heart of or city.
The corner lot they do occupy is extremely small. It is sharing the small lot property with two larger but small retailers as well as a few other stores in such a rounded another random business in the middle of one side of the parking lot.
Also to add you have to experience the restaurant from the ugly side first before you get it around to the front of the building that has a theme of "Northern California Forest outpost" and it does a good job of showing it and definitely feels like it's a part of the local scenic view here.
But regardless of how the outside of the restaurant looks the location, the parking situation. It comes down to the food and the food is good. I have had a couple times of meals that were not shown the attention needed, which leads to not so appeasing meals. Those are few and far between. If you end up having a horrendous meal, you just have the best worst luck of the food lottery. I'm not going to go as far as to vouch for this restaurant. But if you're already planning on going anyway, we definitely wouldn't discourage it. It's definitely worth going to.
