3 It's.fine. Generally well maintained, but:
-The apartments get impossibly hot. Unless you keep the AC running pretty much 24/7 in the summer it gets too hot to live in. Resting temperature in July/August in our bedroom was 88° with the door open.
-Flies. So. Many. Flies. The central courtyard uses "natural fertilizer" ie processed manure, which brings insect eggs, which brings biting black flies.
-Related to point #1, our HVAC went out, and it turns out the unit the building has originally installed had been installed defective, and it was only a matter of time until it blew.
-Compared to other buildings in the area, the amenities are *very* minimal.
Fantastic building, amazing tenets, the ShangriLa of the East Village. Its like living in a middle aged dorm with people who made good life choices.
I felt safe.my visit was very comfortable. The 2 bdrm 2bath was spacious and modern.
