Omg, the 5 star reviews on here are obviously written by the person they're praising. What a joke. If you take out the fake 5 star reviews, they'd have no more than 2 stars.

UPDATE 9/14/23: actual building management is no longer communicating in regards to the SPIT AND ASH situation that continues to occur. Instead, they’ve taken the issue to upper management (after asking them to do so in the beginning to which Brianna says “there’s no upper management, it’s me”. A clear lie) because they can no longer deal with the problem tenant. Instead they will install “flooring” on the upper balconies so that no spit and ash will come to my area. Isn’t that “great”? They placate and accommodate the tenant who is still clearly breaking the lease agreement. Additionally, the “upper management” person has not gotten back to me after a week’s time has passed. Was told that they are doing a “corporate party”. How convenient huh? Last time I checked, it’s the building management’s responsibility to maintain the cleanliness of the community and space they are “managing”. This clearly shows that they are horribly failing at even doing that.

Wow. I’ve been living in this community for the past year and half and just a had a very negative interaction with their “resident liaison”. Totally rude and had a condescending tone over the phone and interrupted me multiple times. I’d like a reply from building management ASAP

UPDATE: Lisa the resident liaison has been great, and so has the maintenance crew and Jamal Jamal from security. However, MANAGEMENT can’t seem to manage their tenants. I’ve been experiencing spit, ash, and urine dropping on my patio floor and white furniture. All management can do is “follow the process” here’s photos of the spit, ash and urine dating from September 23rd. There’s even video proof of the tenant smoking and spitting out of his balcony, and MACARTHUR COMMONS management has been powerless to do anything about MANAGING THEIR TENANTS, which is what they call “their business”. Let’s see if they read this and actually do something.

After graystar management has been changed this place is juts getting worse and worse in time it’s been a few months now with the new management problems that hasn’t been fixed since the new management started
1. The jacuzzi has a problem so it’s been shut down for 2 months and counting mind you this is in the summer you can’t even enjoy your amenities
2.the pool door was broken so they shut off the most convenient way to access the pool you have to take a long detour I don’t think they have any plans on fixing the door
3. It’s been now few weeks since the elevator hasn’t been working in the C building
4. No one likes the new garbagecans they gave us to replace the old one because it doesn’t fit under the kitchen sink so every one is not switching there old garbegecan so all the hallways has a grabagecan outside every apartment door 24/7
when my lease ends I’m moving out I don’t pay this much to have this much problem
New management =

These photos are of my car that was broken into while in our "private" garage, that has zero precautionary signs posted and security guards that "patrol" while on the phone. Myself and at least 20 of my neighbors have compared stories of packages being stolen, crack pipes left in the courtyard, revolving door of security guards, bikes being stolen from the locked bike room, personal robbery victims and car break-ins (while in the parking garage we PAY to keep our cars in. I was literally chased by a mentally ill person trying to follow me in the building!
I contacted our district's city council member, the interim police chief and local press about the conditions the residents are living under while living at MacArthur Commons.
A friend of mine's apartment was broken into, a resident was murdered, the police and paramedics are here at least once a week. Everyone is on edge and always suspicious of one another. Non Black residents rarely hold the door for people walking in the door REGARDLESS if the Black person has keys in their hand.
The management needs to be from this area to work and support the residents. How can you effectively manage a property when you're always inside and/or in meetings all day?

THIS IS AN UNSAFE ENVIRONMENT. PLEASE AVOID THIS PLACE. Security and staff are useless. I do not recommend this place. Spend your money elsewhere. They take down reviews that details the most important information that potential tenants should know about. Once they get you in you're on your own.

The Junk fees add up to close to 10% of rent. Trash, Utility Use fee, Pest Fee, Water Boiler Fee etc. Neighborhood day time robberies extremely high. All Day. Bart train extremely loud. They will overcharge you at end knowing if you dont pay they can put it on your credit, no matter how insane the charge is. Definitely stay away, as it is priced high on top of that.

Car got broken into here. Very unsafe property. Management staff is EXTREMELY rude and almost feels like they take pride in seeing their rudeness make your life here miserable. Read their Yelp reviews and you'll see.

Recently moved in here and could not be more happy with this place. Amenities and building are beautiful - pool, gym, yoga/spin room, lounges, decks, Firepit, parking garage, etc. Units have high ceilings, washer/dryer, dishwasher, large bathrooms. The layout of my studio is great and actually feels more like a junior one bedroom. The building is surprisingly quiet for how many people live here and I hardly hear foot traffic, neighbors, noise, doors, etc. What really makes this building stand out in my opinion is the building staff. Serious shout out to Lisa who goes the extra distance to make sure packages are delivered correctly, are not stolen in lobby, are securely stored, helps with larger returns, and just generally goes above and beyond. Nightly trash valet is easy to use, security is on site at night, and the leasing office staff are available, friendly, and very helpful. I recently moved in at the same time new management took over the building and I could not be more grateful and pleased so far. Highly recommend living here.

Maintenance team is unprofessional and very much understaffed. Attached is how they left the outlet plate in my place. This was not working and I asked for maintenance, they broke the wall plate and it’s still not working.

Located right around the bus & bart station, this place is very convenient for me as a college student. You need key to access both the gate and elevator with security guards every night, so pretty safe to live! Corina was very helpful when I was staying there! She was so nice and patient, and helped me out whenever I needed (She's the one that you want to talk to!). However, I indeed lost some deliveries and packages in this apartment and none of them were found back: (Other than that, it's a great place to stay!

Hi folks. I am an artist living in MacArthur Commons. My work is in the collection of five US and one European Museum collection, as well as numerous private collections. If your walls are bare, fret no more. Jeannie Freedlund my collections manager will be back after the holidays. She can supply you with images and prices of small and large works. Stay tuned and have a great New Year.

0 stars for management alone. MacArthur Commons' front office is a waste. At this point, the residents should be running it themselves. Good luck trying to get in contact with the front office staff. Times that I was fortunate to speak to someone, I experienced a lack of honesty with some staff members.

Furthermore, I've had issues with my apartment since moving in less than a year ago (ceiling leak, bedroom door falling off numerous times, window skirt fell off and nearly hit my company in the head). Noisy/fighting/smoking neighbors (I honestly don't have an issue with my neighbors though, I have an issue with how front desk goes about "responding" to noise and smoke complaints - they do absolutely nothing).

Amenities are nice. Parking sucks. Nice looking apartments, but very cheaply made materials. Again, good luck.
