Mach 1 Aviation, Van Nuys CA

I highly recommend Mach 1 for flight training and aircraft rental, especially for Cirrus aircraft. I recently completed my Cirrus SR-22 VFR/IFR transition training and found them to be well organized and the instructors highly professional and knowledgable. Instructor JJ Gutowski helped me complete the transition quickly and efficiently. Mach 1 has the newest and nicest fleet of rental aircraft in the Los Angeles area and the rental membership program is a good alternative to buying for someone who likes to fly newer capable aircraft for traveling the west coast but isn't ready to purchase an aircraft quite yet.

My discovery flight with Mach 1 was amazing. I felt welcomed and well informed. We flew over Malibu and above down town LA plenty of great photo opportunities. Their aircrafts are in great condition and well maintained. Highly recommended.

Mach1 has been my source of training for 5 years, starting with my Private, then my instrument, and now a commercial single engine. First, their fleet is maintained in perfect condition (which dramatically contrasts with other flight schools at KVNY). Second, the instructors are top notch. They know flying; they know Cirrus inside/out; and they know how to teach in a way that you can understand. It's worth every penny to invest your training investment here. Your life could depend on it.

I started training with Mach 1 in September of 2019. Back then, there were only a couple of aircraft on the line and instructor availability was somewhat limited. Over the course of the last 2 years, I've watched the company experience impressive growth all while keeping the high quality of instruction and culture of safety to which I had become accustomed. What was once a small Cirrus Training center has grown into a top level flight school that can teach it all, including tailwheel and upset recovery skills. The team at Mach 1 was instrumental in helping me earn my PPL in May of 2020 and my instrument rating in June of 2021. The level of instruction and the available aircraft are top notch. I look forward to my continued learning experiences and further training with Mach 1 over the years to come. I'm proud to give them my highest recommendation.

JJ (Jeff), Anita and the entire Mach1 team I got to meet thus far have been tremendous. They are highly professional, certainly passionate about flying and teaching even some late comer like me.
You guys have been flexible accommodating my schedule whenever possible both in terms of date/time and geography. Meeting me up in SBA makes this training possible for me.
Additionally, having modern aircraft available makes the training even more applicable to my goals and much more enjoyable.
I absolutely would love to see the Mach1 team grow and expand bringing their passion of flying to more folks out there.

Mach 1 Aviation is an amazing flight school. I flew with Kyle in the summer of 2020 and can't say enough good things. The instruction was professional, the planes were meticulously maintained and the front desk staff was kind and helpful. Highly recommended!

Mach 1 is everything you hope an elite flight school would be. Excellent service and treatment. Rigorously maintained aircraft which includes several Cirrus SR 20 / 22. Spotless installations. Truly great instructors. My personal experience has been much better than expected. My instructor, Anita, is extremely good, profesional and knowledgeable. You truly feel that they care about you learning things the right way and making you a safe and proficient pilot. Located at KVNY, you learn in a fast paced airport environment that prepares you to fly anywhere in the world. SoCal weather and sunsets make it the best location, period.

Have been lucky enough to get ratings at some of the best flight schools in the country (Riddle, Flight Safety) and Mach 1 meets, if not exceeds, the quality of instruction at these places. Their instructors (particular shout out to Alex) are remarkable and they have me on track and feeling good about my upcoming Commercial exams. Best fleet that I know of in the area - C152 up to to SR22, all very well maintained. Would recommend Mach 1 to anyone seeking to begin or continue their flight training.

Alex and the team at Mach 1 Aviation set a high standard for what a flight school and flight instruction should be. Well maintained aircraft, thorough instruction, and a great location make Mach 1 a perfect fit up at their home base in VNY.
