Machado Apple Barn Inc. reviews
19This place is a bit smaller than other apple farms I've been to but, they have a great selection of pies, apples, pears and some produce. They have delicious fresh apple juice and apple sauce All their pies are baked from scratch on the premises. They also have tamales. I tried their chicken tamales, flavor is great, size is great too. The batch I got was a little on the dry side but flavor was delicious. They also have a great selection of jams, jellies, marinades etc. Recommend.
The 2021 festival
Was really awesome for the whole family.
We really enjoyed this,
My granddaughter that's 7 years old went on a field trip with her school here this yearAlso.
Stopped here on the way home from Nevada City. The fig preserves were too sweet and didn't taste like figs at all. The turnovers were ordinary.
Machado does have a good variety of snacks and sweets.
Great family run business. They have wonderful seasonal produce and their pies are amazing!
Great place to stop for friendly & kind people with a great work ethic.
They have BEET CHIPS! So good!
Bought some delicious peach preserves!
Totally worth going out of the way to hit this spot!
Great produce, pies, bread, all kinds of baked goods, oils, homemade tamales and salsa a little bit of everything!
A truly wonderful place to live near. The fruit they sell is superb, especially what they grow themselves. Machado's Apple Barn is worthy of many trips to a week. It's apple season now and it's time to load up!
One of a kind! The best apple cider I’ve ever had in 50 years I just love it and it’s right off freeway in a lovely town
Love this place best pies ever, it's to bad that they aren't making pumpkin pie yet.
My sister told me about this place: Wonderful pies…not overly sweet. We had the nectarine, pumpkin, and banana cream. So good! Also I inquired about their produce…they don’t use poison for their pesticides but an oil to smother them. I can feel good about that. Super nice people. They also can make sugar-free pies for you if you call a day in advanced. Variety of snacks and such (see photos by others) So much better than the competition down the road. Will be coming back again!
Always a good stop on the way to Lake Tahoe. Lots of fresh fruit and vegges and other unusually food items.
I bought a peach pie for my company dinner desert. The pie was VERY undercooked, most of the peaches were hard, the mixture that turns to a jell after being cooked was still white and runny, you could see that the only thing that was cooked long enough was the crust. $22.50 of wasted money.
Great fruits, excellent pies (full and by the slice), tasty sweets and preserves. Their staff is very friendly and they make you feel welcome. Totally recommend them!
A very friendly and welcoming place to get the freshest fruits, vegetables. And don't forget the pies that are made daily along with homemade candy.
Have been going here since I was a kid. The best pies around in my opinion. Plus they have fresh fruits and vegetables and local goodies
My birthday cake every year is a mixed berry pie.the they are not open yet so banana splits had to suffice
We happened to notice a big ballon advertising pies while driving West on i80 during our trip home from the mountains. I took the first exit and drove over to discover a great market with an assortment of fresh pies. We bought Pecan, Mixed berry & pumpkin pies and each were worth the unplanned stop!
Machado's is a local Apple and Peach orchard. They have great pies and sell other produce and snacks. They also have home made corn nuts. And for a treat you can get a Carmel Apple also.
Great pies. Great peanut brittle. Refreshing fresh apple cider. Outrageous mandarins. And wonderfully clean public restrooms on the outside of the building. The staff is delightfully helpful. We loved this place. We found it on our way into CA from NV and stopped for some mandarins but found the other treasures. Everything was so good that we stopped again on our way back through. Got seconds of everything we bought the first time and more. Must stop in!
