Mad River Rapids RV Park, Arcata CA

We only stayed one night, but we were impressed with how clean and orderly everything was. The price was very reasonable for a holiday weekend. We will definitely stay with these good folks again

Super friendly staff! We showed up with no reservation, and were accommodated immediately. Clerk (Bryan?) was very helpful. Beautiful lay out and really quiet. All previous negative reviews are wrong, this is your place RVers! Thank you!

Quiet, good location. Don't expect gold toilets or anything but not a bad place at all. Near a mexican restaurant and a 24 hr cafe with good bake goods

This is our home away when we are at the coast with our fifth wheel. It’s easy in and out and has paved RV spots with lawn in between the spots. The new owners are definitely making noticeable improvements.

The people are kind and helpful. It’s close by me mums house so it works. They are dog friendly- another plus!

What a nice park right off the 101. Clean sites that are level and paved. Clean bathrooms. We arrived a few minutes after the office closed but the gal in the office opened up and gave us the codes for the bathroom and laundry. They do have easy check in after hours but still we appreciated her assistance. They have a little mini mart which is handy. And a pretty decent Mexican restaurant right next door. We will definitely stay here again.

Stayed is site 20, RV park is clean & quiet, walking distance to 2 good eateries (Toni & Fiesta) & is less than 3 miles from CalPoly. Good separation between RVs. There are some long-term tenants.

Clean & Easy to access RV park & Parking. Reviews were good and a lot of extra’s. That why we choose this place in early April. But, the higher price ánd charging the full amount for empty pool & closed gaming room is too much. See picture. I know its early in season. Might adjust price to amount of total service provided/open/active. Wifi was good.

Everything was okay, the space wasn't very level, but not a big deal, the hook ups worked fine for us. The wifi wasn't great. But the biggest issue is the staff. 1st night we were going to be getting in late so I called to get the wifi password, they gave me the wrong password, so I couldn't work and missed a meeting. We literally came a night early and paid for an extra night just so I could work and have wifi. When we brought this to the attention of the manager "carol" she was very rude, insisted it was our fault and would "talk to her boss" about what they could do to make it right, on a 5 night stay they gave us a whopping $9 back

Then my husband went to extend our stay 1 more night and realized they hadn't given us the good Sam discount, so the gentleman working said we would actually get some money refunded and wouldn't have to pay for the extra night. Well that was not the case. No good Sam discount and they charged our card for the night.

I wouldn't stay here again, they are thiefs.

I stayed long term in and out of the RV Park for over a year. I found the park very quite during the night and day. There were on going improvements throughout the park. I was treated with respect from all of the staff. It’s only five minutes to HSU Cal Poly and down town Arcata. Well maintained and relatively affordable. I would definitely recommend this Park to anyone

This has been my home since August of 2022. I’m currently a student at Cal Poly Humboldt and after a long day of school I get to come home to such a welcoming yet quiet environment full of amazing residents. The campground is family friendly as well as the staff! The facilities are well maintained as well as the sites themselves. Everyone who works there works hard to keep everything cut and cleaned. I’m glad to be calling this my home for the next year and half or so while i finish up my studies at the university. I recommend this place for long term as well as a place to stay while you visit beautiful Humboldt!
