Madeo Restaurant, West Hollywood CA

I will never step foot in this establishment (or Bianca’s) ever again. I made a reservation to celebrate my mother’s 60th and asked for a great table for the celebration. The hostess refused to seat us outdoors or at a booth. Mind you, the restaurant was nearly empty. She said “Good tables are reserved for regulars who come in 3x a week. ” The attitude on her was unbelievable - I have never been spoken to in such a manner in my life. Even the valet attendant asked me what happened when I left the restaurant. He pointed her out, knowing how rude she was. I called my friend who is a regular at Madeo and she said “That specific hostess is notorious for being rude. ” If you see her (short hair, over 60, Asian) BEWARE. Another manager came out pleading us to stay and said he would give us the “best table” and didn’t want us to be upset. Too late. I used to go to the old Madeo all the time and frequent Bianca’s. I have met the owner many times and he is always pleasant. It’s a shame that his staff has a bad reputation.

What can I say about this restaurant.it is simply amazing in every way. The cuisine is unbelievably delicious. Every single bite is pure joy! No matter what dish you choose, you can count on it being singularly fantastic! From front to back, the staff is like a finely-tuned machine working their magic! The seductive and enchanting ambience complements the overall experience.

Madeo offers an unforgettable dining experience with incredibly authentic Italian cuisine served in a classy and elegant setting. The service is exceptionally professional and meticulous. What makes Madeo special is the attention to detail, the professionalism of the staff, and the taste and freshness of the ingredients. An array of decadent desserts are shown to customers after the main meal; the creme caramel is incredibly sublime, while the millefeuille and profiteroles are the best this side of the Atlantic. Choices of main courses and starters are numerous, and the regular specials are worth ordering. Thank you Madeo for your hospitality and indeed for the finest, freshest, and most delightful meal I have tasted in Los Angeles!

The food tastes delicious made from fresh ingredients. The staff are so friendly that you will always feel welcomed. I would definitely recommend you to try this place.

The food and service were amazing. The owner is always there and you can tell he wants to make sure his guests are well taken care of every night.

On a Thursday night around eight o’clock we walked in with no reservation. Literally, five minutes later we were ushered into the lush patio dining room with commanding views of downtown Los Angeles and Century City. The owner, Alfio Vietina, came to our table and welcomed us with heartfelt “Benvenuto. ” The table service, the impeccable wine list, and all that GORGEOUS FOOD! For the next hour and half we were treated and ate like kings! Truly, a magical dining experience. Mille Grazie.

If you like average overpriced italian food in an uncomfortable and pretentious setting - this is the place for you!

Food - average and over priced. I had the lobster pasta and it was a small bowl of pasta with almost no lobster. For $68 plus tax plus tip, you’re dropping close to $90 for a bowl of average pasta. Super disappointed. On the plus side, the bar staff were helpful and gave a complementary drink to apologise for the sub par food.

Front desk - what a joke. They gave us a bar seat and we asked them to add us to a waiting list to be seated at a table. The bar is full of people elbowing you and walking into you. The front door is constantly open and it’s was a cold evening so not a great place to be. Following this request to be seated at a table, others made the same request. They were clearly more persuasive (or more important) than my wife and I, as our request was ignored and theirs were actioned. It’s clearly a “who you know” situation here. Front desk (bold guy with glasses) was incredibly unhelpful and dismissive when challenged on this point.

Old Italian man (possibly owner? Or pretending to be) walks around the restaurant offering free shots to pretty girls. Creates a fun atmosphere but in a somewhat creepy way.

The food is good but 1/ the price is simply ridiculous 2/ it gets so busy that sitting near the entrance feels like sitting in a shopping mall 3/ the deserts contain so much sugar and are so sweet that you can’t taste much else. So if you want to spend 400-500 usd for 4 people it is the right place for you!

Great ambiance, beautiful interior, delicious food, great service from our server Dario, the hosts and managers, such friendly diners. Overall we had a lovely evening at their newest spot. Updated photo of the new location.

Most amazing flavors ever experienced in my life. There is a reason why this restaurant has been around for almost 50 years. Enough said! Still dreaming about returning for more!
