I had a great time good bartenders, friendly professional security, I had to update my posting original 4 stars 2nd visit was even better

I went here for before heading to Fox theater. Worst customer service ever. Never going back!

Make Westing is a place where the undeniable feeling of it is how alive it is. Whether it's the great hip hop music pumping through the beefy soundsystem, hardworking bartenders or neighborhood heads playing bones and yelling domino on the front patio, this place feels like the epitome of the Oakland melting pot and is definitely a cornerstone of the nightlife in this city

This. Place. Is. Dope! I always give respect to a bar that has St. Germain infused drinks on their menu! The bocce ball space, the lighting, the vault, all super cute! Hella tasty empanadas, double bonus points because they had turkey bacon inside! ONLY reason they get four stars it's because my homie Dan said they had an amazing oxtail sandwich on the menu and it was gone so I couldn't try it. Please consider bringing it back? Highly recommend this spot in Downtown, NOT uptown, Oakland!

As someone who used to be semi regular here, its disappointing to get bad vibes from this place.

The pandemic definitely affected this place. It used to get people from the fox theater and other businesses in the area so it was more lively.

Also, It does not look like people are happy working here as I didn't feel welcomed. I did notice the bartender was dealing with a rude customer.so I guess that energy just get passed on. (however.didn't feel good energy from anyone)

Hopefully it goes back to being a cool "hang out spot" or "spot to take a date" and not a "unwelcoming odd club music bar" once the pandemic is behind us. Everyone who I remember at this bar doesn't look to work there anymore.
