I’ve had the honor to work with Malaena on and off for several years and thus I’ve had the chance to witness her ‘behind the scenes’. I had the complete honor of mentoring Malaena for two years during an intensive and rigorous educational certification program. This program required participants to dive deep into their soul to heal themselves and their life. Because the work requires facing that which we have been running from our whole lives, many students cannot face themselves and leave the program. I watched week after week as Malaena dove into every aspect of

the program and faced everything head-on. Her emotional courage, resilience and determination is something that I strive to achieve myself. Malaena reminded me how to be strong when facing difficult situations and taught me so much as I watched her grow.
