Mama Hong's Vietnamese Kitchen, Burbank CA

Haven't been in a while and won't be going back again unfortunately. The vegetables were wilted and sad. They served drinks in disposable cups. I'm not going to pay $30+ a person for such a sad experience. The music was punk rock from the 2000s. Not at all what it used to be.

Great place for an excellent dinner. Service is fast and friendly, food is good.
Recommend cleaning facilities more.

Restaurant was only 1/4 filled but struggled with service. The shrimp fried rice was good, but nothing special. The beef wok was also good, but not special. But we came for the Pho. WHICH WE WAITED 25 MINUTES TO RECEIVE! It was really good, but NOT worth the 25 minute wait! Most of the time, Pho takes. 2 minutes.maybe? !

Wow, this used to be one of our go-to places. It's sad to see how bad they are now. 1st, we found a bug in our food. Luckily staff there was cool about it and made all the right attempts to rectify the problem. We ended up leaving immediately after our food arrived because of the bug situation, and we were not charged. 2nd, we were given papercups for our water. 3rd, the padding for our seat at our booth wasn't even connected and honestly could be deemed unsafe for elderly or children. Last, they close mid-day during lunch hours now and reopen a couple hours later. When we used to come here, the atmosphere was high-end and well taken care of, water came in glasses with ice, there were more tables and a line out the door to be seated, and the food didn't have dead bugs inside. A huge fall from grace and destined to be a vacant restaurant like the graffiti'd and boarded up windows neighbor that used to be Fuddruckers. Very sad.

It's okay. Toss up. Food, service, and wait time all meh.
Something must have happened if you read the reviews of past 6 months to the previous 6 years.

Decided to try out this place before going to see a movie. The atmosphere is average and nothing special. The food was almost the same honestly. It was fine but nothing special. We had the Creamy Cheese Wontons which were decent, the Spicy Tofu Garlic Noodle which were not even a little bit spicy and pretty greasy but was also ok, and the Vegetable Pho with Tofu which, again, was fine but nothing special. The service was great though and the food came out quickly! Oh and the paper cups instead of regular glassware or even hard plastic was a bit of a turn-off.

Busy place. Might have to wait a little to be seated. But it's worth it. Dishes are big and tasty.

If your in the mood for pho and are in the burbank area this place doesn't disappoint. I always order the Pho for my wife and the crispy spicy garlic tofu for myself.

Got their special, the large version just felt like it had more soup instead of food, but still enjoyed it overall.
I would say this is a modern take on pho, still yummy overall.

Excellent pho. Added veggies, and they were a great complement to the soup. Excellent flavor. Ate half, had the rest for lunch the next day and it was still delicious.

I ordered the spicy garlic chicken noodles and my friend ordered the traditional pho.

The spicy garlic noodles were a bit underwhelming. The noodles were soft, broken, wet, and overcooked. On top of that, they weren’t spicy or garlic-y. The chicken was alright. It was a little crispy and kinda tasted like lightly glazed orange chicken.

The pho broth was bland and lukewarm, despite coming out several minutes after the garlic noodles.

The Vietnamese coffee was good. My friend wanted it black but his request was denied because the coffee is premade.

We've been coming here for over 4 years. But recently, it feels like the owners of this restaurant must have lots of money to turn away customers the way they do.
Their phone goes straight to fax on weekends. Or they disconnect the phone completely. They also disable online orders. And they're closed during the week mid day, reopening at 4pm.
We will look for a new place to patron.
