All around very good and definitely better than the pre-made, buffet style places. Been coming here years and never had a bad meal.

Small, local place that has both Chinese AND Japanese food. Good quality without the stupid high prices you usually get in SM. Always fast service and great food. The combo Kung Pao (3 flavor) will change your life!

I always find myself coming here, even when I'm not in the area. The food is consistently delicious, and the wait time is always short. I usually order the vegetable lomein and the broccoli with garlic sauce, and they're both very delicious. I only wish that I found this place when I went to Samohi and SMC since they're both very close lol. All jokes aside, if you're craving some good American-style Chinese food in Santa Monica, then this is the place for you.

This is the closest thing I've found to NYC fast food Chinese food, in LA. The fact that everyone uses Panda Express as the standard is so weird to me bc it's mall food. This place tastes like the days of $5.95 lunch specials through a rotating bulletproof glass wall and I'm here for it!

We ordered from this take-out restaurant because of the rave reviews. There was not one ingredient that tasted fresh. The food looked unappealing and was totally bland. The restaurant does not dine-in, but what is left of it is a wreck. I'm sorry, but there is no sense of pride here or food cooked with love.

Ordered takeout and mentioned we were walking and the were so sweet they double bagged our food for the walk home. It was affordable, delicious and exactly what you want in classic Chinese takeout in the neighborhood! Highly recommend

My husband and I started ordering from here six years ago when he lived in Santa Monica. In 2021 he moved and we weren't close enough. Today we went to Santa Monica and had to visit! Not only was the food amazing, as usual, but when I explained we were taking it home to the Inland Empire she gave me tips on how to reheat everything! Amazing service, food, 100% perfection!

Ive ordered from Mandarin for years always delivery as it was free if you met a certain amount. Now they are charging a $3.00 Delivery & a Convince FEE & then TAXED on those Extra Fees. I'm surprised they don't put tip in there also & TAX on that. With 3 items Ordered now the bill is close to $40.00. WOW! I'll Probably not be ordering from Mandarin anymore.

Ordered ahead and picked up in less than 10 minutes. You can tell that it’s a family owned spot and the people that run the shop are very friendly. Great size dishes, food is pretty tasty and they included all the necessary sauces. I am a happy camper! It’s surprisingly hard to find simple Chinese food in this area.

The Honey Walnut Crispy Shrimp was EXCELLENT! Better than the one that Panda Express offers. Big Shrimps, full of flavor and very crispy. Bao Buns with BBQ pork was so so… not worth it, tried better ones before. Waiting time takes too long, but it was a very delicious meal.

Paid $15 for Mongolian beef, got a box of onions instead. Literally was 30% beef and 70% onions. Standards were low to begin with for a place that calls themselves japanese+chinese food, but wow, did it disappoint even more. People who say this is the best chinese food they have ever had are sad, tasteless people who have never experienced actual food outside of mcdonalds chicken nuggets and unseasoned frozen chicken tenders from their local groceries.

Mandarin is literally the best Chinese food we have ever tasted! The dumplings are spectacular, the shrimp shumai is exquisite! And we can’t wait to try everything else we ordered but we are still in the car—we had to eat some appetizers right away, lol! What an amazing find! This restaurant is awesome, and the owner is so lovely too! Very special place! PS We just finished dinner: General Tao’s Chicken: the best I’ve ever had by a mile! Lo Mein Noodles: perfectly cooked and seasoned! Salmon roll: fresh and delicious! Mandarin is a secret treasure! The best!
