Manila Oriental Market reviews
21Door attendant doesn't know anything. As soon as I entered she said cover your mouth when I was already wearing a mask on. The management should put someone with common sense there. The was other customers in the store with mask below their nose. No one said anything to them but I was being called out because of my race.
Today we bought a top 5 big fresh swimming sturgeon in the seafood department of Manila oriental market. The people in them exchanged a small dead sturgeon in front of us for us, and then we took a closer look and found If it’s not right, let’s say whether we changed our fresh sturgeon. The employees in them have been reluctant to admit this mistake. Later we had a person who was said to be a fish stall and took a look and exchanged the fish we just bought.we. Their behavior is too shameful to deceive consumers, and the attitude and handling of the manager in charge of the supermarket is difficult to accept us and react to this incident. As a result, she just said that I am a bit busy now shirk the responsibility and hope everyone buys fish or Keep other seafood dim sum
Still have a room to improve, such fresh fruit products don't mixed with bad one, you can rises the price a bit.
I have been going to this market for many years. It has that distinct smell that most seafood Asian markets tend to have.
The prices are decent. Not all items are worth buying because some items are overpriced. But there are deals to be found.
Today I stopped by to buy shrimp. I was going to purchase tiger prawn shrimp. As I was about to bag some up I noticed it had specks of white marks. I tried to ask several people behind the counter and they all acted like they didn't know what I was talking about. I picked one up and it was slimy. Nasty looking with white spots and and slimy. I will not be going back! It has seriously gone down hill.
This is a standard Asian market. Prices are good. But smelly and not the clean, well-lit, and wide-aisled environment most Americans are used to. Produce is mostly pre-bundled for you, like at Trader Joe's, so you don't get to pick individual pieces of fruit. The meat counter carries a lot of cuts of meat, poultry, and fish that you cannot find at Safeway, at very reasonable prices. Can get really crowded mid-morning and patrons are not good at social distancing. But everyone is masked and respectful at the checkout lines. I've started coming here almost exclusively during quarantine because I can't handle waiting in line just to get into Safeway or Trader Joe's, and supplies are still plentiful at Manilla so I never leave without the items I need.
Good dim sum with average pricing. The wait on weekends can be very long at times. Weekdays are less crowded and service is much better.
Delicious Asian food that's fresh. The pproduce is the best and cheeper than other stores. Friendly staff make you feel welcome and appreciated. Safe place for children.
Good for produce. Not crazy about their meat department the workers are nasty. I watched one man spit on the floor behind the counter
Their vegetables and fruits are great! But won't trust the frozen/canned food. I bought some ice-cream and canned beans and both were beyond their sell-by date (in months!)
Very good place to shop for your groceries
They have variety of food fresh and dry products international goods
They also have hot foods. They clean and fry fish of any kind. Try to visit this place you wont regret.
Be prepared to bag your own groceries, customer service is non existing.zero! Produce are fresh but you got to know your stuff.i dont buy meat here because i dont think the staff are ever trained on servsafe, cross contamination are everywhere.
This market had everything we were looking for and more. Much cheaper than my local asian market.
The quality of the produce are not the freshest, but they are eminently affordable. You can also find consumables from all over east and southeast Asia.
It's a no thrilled place to shop for original sea food, vegetables and fruits. Large variety, big package, lowest price and freshness are what you will find.
Their sea food and meat counter are the same set up.
They maintain lower price and freshness to keep their customers happy.
I've been going here for years. I purchase my meat and veggies from here. They have great prices.
Oriental store, fresh fish and meat. They can cut, clean and fry your fish. Good vegetables and fruit choices, cheap place
So much variety! This place has goods packed as densely as a wet market but is the size of a big supermart. Great place to get Asian groceries.
You could find almost anything at this place. But the smell of the fish is overwhelming. Other stores in the area overcame this problem but they don't carry the stuff this place carries. So 5 stars over all and zero star for the smell.
Angra I think that's her name. She is the best employee there.whenever I go to Manila Oriental Market when she is there I always go to her aisle no matter how long her line is! She always remembers me from the first time I went to her aisle
They don't carry Jose' Cuervo Margarita mix. How can you call your market a MOM and not carry mixers? If you're complaining about parking do what most people that have lived on the Peninsula for longer than a week do. Park in the neighborhood and walk in. If that's not an option shop after 8pm. Tons of parking and no lines!
