Marianne's Ice Cream, Santa Cruz CA

We have stopped at Marianne’s for years and years every time we visit. Last Tuesday evening we brought our friends on their first trip to Santa Cruz and it was the worst experience ever. The teenage girl scooping ice cream actually went up and banged on the window to yell at my 13 year old son who was OUTSIDE in the parking lot to pull his mask up. She then FLIPPED HIM and his friend OFF! While I was ordering! It was unbelievable. Then while we were waiting for our friends behind us to get their ice cream, again.standing in the parking lot OUTSIDE, the other employee yelled at us to ‘leave if we already had our ice cream because it was grab and go’. They were so incredibly rude to us I couldn’t even believe it was happening. We spent over $100 in ice cream and they acted completely annoyed and angry that we were even there. Honestly ruined our trip. Will definitely find a new tradition spot for ice cream. So sad.

REQUIRED every time I visit Santa Cruz. Unique and delicious flavors with friendly staff. Super classic vibe. Been going here since I was a kid and have never had a bad experience (except maybe from the line!)

Everything you would ever want in ice cream. During this 3-day trip, I tried Kahlua Krunch and Oatmeal Cookie Dough - incredible ice cream. I'll probably try another forgot on my way out of town tomorrow.

Can't question the quality here. I don't get lost in the too many flavors offered, but if you want variety they got that too. Always a line but now you can order ahead. Your choice.

You can’t go to Santa Cruz or even drive up & down 17 and not stop by Marianne’s.
