GRPSUP 74-76.18yrs old high school dropout. Thank God for the Marine Corps. New Orleans/Belle Chase great first duty station. Great hangers.

Was stationed there with HMH 361 Flying Tigers CH -53 those were some good days, loved every minute, went back after 25 years and the only thing standing from that base are the 2 blimp hangers.

Amazing history and structure.i used to live on the active base and would ride my bike there often to gaze at the structure and get dizzy looking up.

Was stationed there in 1972, MAG-16 Headquarters. The hangers are enormous. I was a radio operator in Marines, spent some time in those old buildings. Was actually assigned to MABS-16.
