Mariscos Negro Durazo reviews
9This used to be one of my favorite spot to go on my days off but i am never going back again after today. We (family of 3 kids, 2 adults) where told to pick a table and very quickly an employee came to clean the table and give us menus. Everything was great until 1 minute later a big family came in and they where seated near us they where brought chips and salsa and took the order while we still had not been offered drinks, chips or salsa. After five minutes of us being completely ignored by the staff i decided to leave.
We had the cockroach shrimp, ensenade style fish and shrimp tacos, carne asada taco, and chupacabra combination plate. Cockroach shrimp was absolutely killer, we almost kicked the plate clean! The tacos left a lot to be desired, unfortunately. Bland fish and shrimp, and a huge chunk of inedible fat in the asada taco. Chupacabra combo was mostly good, except for the bacon wrapped shrimp. Bacon was 1. Excessive, 2. Tough on the outside, and 3. Undercooked on the inside.
As for the waitress. She could definitely use some training in hospitality. Each and every single plate was *dropped* onto our table. At one point it seemed like she was just tossing appetizer plates in our general direction. We asked for another minute to review the menu and it was a full 20 before she came back to take our order and we were the only ones in entire the restaurant other than a group that had already been served. The music was loud, random, and constantly interrupted by Facebook Messenger notifications. When we asked her if there was any way the music could be turned down, she quickly turned away and acted like she didn't hear us (ironic).
For the cherry on top, when I asked for the bill, she set it directly in front of my husband with a "Here you go, sir" as if I didn't just ask for it. Not to be that person, but why is the waitress assuming that a woman can't pay for her meal? I digress.
Go for the food, but only if you're willing to put up with the service and atmosphere.
I was not hungry but my wife had a nice lunch and the waiter kept on ofering diferent snacks to me while I was having several drinks.after the third offer I said yes.and I ate
Bottom line the service was excelent and the waiter did not give up wich I like it. Super service of this guy, real smooth, food with a real good taste, prices available, recomended
Nice bartender took my order before 10 am opening. Great fried fish special for month of October
Wait staff needs training very rude. And seriously with the uniforms. This place is definitely a guys hang out spot. Food was okay nothing special.
Food was mediocre. Fish tacos were bland, there was more vegetables and hardly any fish on the batter and tortilla was hard as a rock. I get better mariscos from a food truck, over priced, and the female server hardly came to check on us and never asked if we needed a refill on drinks at least and had to constantly ask other servers for things we needed.
Shrimp taco was all tortilla only 4 tiny shrimp under a bunch of cabbage. Definitely shrimp size shrimp taco's. Service is slow.
Wanted to give this local business a try. Upon arrival we were not greeted and we had to ask to be seated. Tables were dirty. Our server was not trained properly, she would not take empty plates away or would forget to bring us water. Service was not good, she was a bit lethargic. When it came to the food, the only good thing were the oyster on the half shell. The Shrimp Cocktail and the ceviche had no flavor at all. The alcoholic beverages were okay. We went on a Friday evening, the norteñas band was setting up. Ppl were arriving for live entertainment not for the food. We spent $100. Two dishes were barely touched (cocktail & cebiche) because they were really bad. We only had six oysters and two drinks. Left right away.
Worst place ever I order a cocktail size large and it only came with 3 pieces of shrimp and the taste was horrible I tried to add more ingredients to save the tast but just got worse and the fish taco was horrible too never going back don't recommend this place at all
