If you’re looking to adopt a cat, run don’t walk away from this place. An employee had the gall to look me dead in the eyes and say that they do not test OR vaccinate against FIV or FLiV. These are infectious conditions that can kill your cats. The two excuses they use are also flat out lies. The first is that they’ll tell you they haven’t seen a case in years. Which is HILARIOUS because I mean, yeah. Of course you don’t see cases of a disease if you don’t test for it? Real Donald Drumpf logic there. This is also just a lie, and it was really awkward for him to tell this lie to someone who just lost their cat to FLiV. The other is that the tests for FLiV and FIV give lots of “false positives”. In fact, the near exact phrase was “if we tested our cats for it nearly all of them would come up positive”. Again this is super embarrassing to lie about when the person knows what they’re talking about. The test is NOT inaccurate, it is a two part test. The first, the rapid antigen, is based on a vet interpretation of a sample under a microscope. If that is positive, you then send it for a PCR test that replicates the virus in the sample to prove it’s there and that it isn’t a false positive. The only reason not to do this is to cut costs, as it costs around $300 or so to do completely. I get animal shelters cut costs because they’re underfunded, but this will literally kill not only the cat you adopt but any other cats in your home. The fact that they’re willing to lie to someone’s face because they don’t know that person is informed is also troubling. If you MUST adopt a cat from this place, name your own price and go as low as possible. Do not spend an extra sent on somewhere who doesn’t love animals enough to protect their health. It’s literally their job and they won’t do it. Tragic and unethical.

A very special place to find a forever pet. We had to find our Charlie a new home. Charlie was a wonderful pet with more energy than we could keep up with as an older couple. Mary S Roberts found him a home the same day with a family, just what Charlie needed. Thank you.

Staff does not want you to adopt pets whatsoever. We were looking for a kitten, after losing our beloved 13 year old cat & because we did not want to declaw theirs & take away its natural instincts & defenses we were told we could not adopt a kitten! I left quite upset & do not EVER plan on returning.

Everything u can imagine the best prices very nice inside and doctors and front desk people everyone is the greatest. I took 9 of my cats to get spade and nutter. Over a period of time. Everything went great. Appointments went great. So thumbs up. I would go there again.

Friendly staff and best prices. Most recently we just had our dog fixed, vaccinated and microchipped for less than it would have cost to have her fixed elsewhere. She's recovering quickly with no problems.

Very disappointed! Went to adopt a dog and was told if we only keep the dog as an outside dog they wouldn’t show us any of their dogs. WHAT!
She informed us that the heat is killing the animals. They assume we are irresponsible. So very WRONG!

If you love pets please give here, this is a really great no kill shelter! They sell the donations to cover the care of the animals, if you get the chance do a tour here. You will be impressed too!

This is the 3rd shelter I have adopted from in the area and it has been the best experience. Most of the animals here are already spayed and neutered. They also have the most sanitary conditions in the shelter and most friendly and knowledgeable staff and volunteers.

My sister and I went to the Mary S. Roberts Pet Adoption Center to deliver pet blankets that her and I crocheted through the Roubidoux Library Crocheting Club, for the animals in the Pet adoption center. We were greeted by a friendly staff, and our short stay was unforgettable bcs I wanted to bring all the doggies and kittens home with me.

Everyone is really nice, very informative and are especially great with the animals. I took my puppy in to be neutered and they were great with him and me and called me to let me know that it all went good and that he was doing good and that he would be ready to be picked up at 2.

Staff is pretty cool. Great place to look first when trying to get a pet. The kittens are very adorable and seem to be acclimated to people and other animals which is cool.

After going shelter to shelter looking for my new best friend I found him here. The shelter itself is very clean and the staff was amazing. The adoption process was quick and the fees are fair. My family and I are very happy about the new addition to our family.

Love that everything you donate goes back into supporting the homeless animals in our community. The store always has a great selection of clothes and other fun stuff. Great for school projects, costumes and the occasional great find! Definitely worth checking in every now and again, merch is always changing!

A really well run no kill shelter. They have a small army of volunteers that come and socialize the animals, including leash training dogs.
