I am beyond grateful that I found this program. Mary’s Haven has saved my life. LITERALLY. I’ve been here for 7 months now and I’ve been clean and sober for 7 months (Thanks to Mary’s Haven) And the person I am today is unrecognizable. If it wasn’t for Ms Wilkins coming in and turning this place around for the better. I know I wouldn’t of made it this far without her. The amount of work, love, and patience that Ms Wilkins and Ms Barbara put in this place every day is magnificent.
I came into this program with absolutely no life skills, no ambitions, no money, poor parenting skills, nasty eating habits, no communication skills and poor cleaning habits. I can full whole heartedly say that The staff at Mary’s Haven help me step by step to change into a better person and a better mother. They put their heart and soul into this job. Helping those who are willing to make a change and still willing to help those who aren’t quite ready by pushing them into the right direction. I can’t forget to mention the love they have for each and every child that comes in with no hesitation. They make the children feel loved. My son absolutely loves all the staff here. For the first time in my life I now have a savings account and a plan for my future. I am a prime example that this program does work. I am excited to see what my future holds after completing this program.

The director Ms. T is very rude, and act like wardens, like they running a prison. They treat the women badly. She doesn't have any respect, She walks in on the women in their rooms without knocking. It all is degrading.they need a change of staff and administration. I pray that the City shuts that down and make changes.

I was referred to this shelter from the Mary's table across the way from them. Marsha was very nice to me on the phone. So I called the shelter women's home across the street. Barbara the receiptionist over the phone was very rude, she cut me off when I was talking. She didn't even listen to me when I was trying to explain my situation. She had no compation at all what so ever. She shouldn't be in this field of work if she doesn't have good listening skills or compassion for wemon or children.
