Masters Kitchen and Cocktail reviews
19We had the pleasure of having dinner at Masters after our original choice was overbooked and we couldn’t have been luckier! Service was EXCELLENT, food was incredibly delicious and our family had the best time. Masters will definitely be our go to dinner spot on our regular visits to Oceanside! Thank you to the team that made last night perfect for our party of ten!
Happy hour review: Wings and fries were great as well as our drinks. Didn't seem too much like a happy hour for food as they still seemed kinda pricey but the drinks may be a steal. On the Wednesday that we went it was all day happy hour and it was quite empty the whole day.
Food: 6/10
Drinks: 7/10

Great place for a date night with your significant other or family. Although clientele is mostly adults, well-behaved children would do well during lunch and early evening hours. The food was very tasty and plentiful.
This used to be our go-to happy hour place for their all day Wednesday happy hour but no longer. Wings, fries and a cocktail (great old fashions) - couldn’t go wrong. But now they bread their wings (they said it was a cost issue?). I cannot eat gluten so I couldn’t have it at all, and my husband tried them and said the original was far better. I really hope they go back to their original wings.
We were also a bit disappointed with their bartending staff; they used to have really great bartenders but it seemed they cleaned house and we would get a new one every time we visited - and they didn’t seem to know much (couldn’t answer our questions, gave us wrong menus, etc).
We went from going almost weekly to not going at all. Such a bummer.
I go everywhere. Don’t spend time sending bad reviews. However I feel like I should now. Spent $1500.00 and all of the Rib Eyes sucked. Low quality meat, thin & cold. 3X’s Over priced. All the drinks double sucked. Bartenders are slow & awful craft mixers. Tons of ice, no alcohol $18 a shot of Casamigos. Just terrible! It’s unfortunate because the restaurant bar is nice and open with high ceilings. Not a bad vibe in a good location. However, the food and drinks just SUCK! It’s super unfortunate because it’s one of the older establishments in Oceanside. Been a long time Oceanside local it’s very disappointing. I definitely suggest elsewhere! I would give recommendations, but I don’t feel it would be cool. Not good! Masters is definitely off my Oceanside list of dinner spots.
Service was excellent, cool restaurant design but still cold inside with the large entry fully open. The food was unfortunately meh. We had a large party and there were cooking issues with almost every item. Bland, undercooked, poor quality steak. Too many issues to list but in general they need a new head chef. Won't be back.
Pretty good food and specialty cocktails. Enjoyed the brussel sprouts. Our server was pleasant.
The most mediocre, tasteless food I've ever had at an actual restaurant. Habit burger has higher elevated flavors than here. I'd be surprised if they even had one jar of spices in this kitchen. The cooks certainly don't use them. What a waste of time and money
10/10 would recommend. First of all, the orange dreamsickle drink is excellent. I'm a fair weather drinker and DO NOT like to taste my liquor so I am always nervous to try drinks, but this one was perfect! Secondly, I have never enjoyed an Orange creamsicle flavored anything ever in my life, but this was SO good I had 2. If your palette is fruity and sweet like mine, I think you'll be pleasantly surprised. I had the strawberry mixed greens salad. They were a little light on the vinegarette for my tast but I still enjoyed the dish. I had the master burger and have no complaints. It was tasty but nothing very special. The Philly cheesesteaks egg rolls were delicious. I thought the ambiance of this place was nice, but I'm a big fan on plant life and wood tones.
Has a ton of potential but fell short. First, the place is beautiful inside. They nailed that. But nobody asks for open air dining at night in Winter. It was cold. No reason to have the bay doors open.
The menu was a bit underwhelming. The food was good but nothing that I would return for. 22 dollars for a chicken sandwich and fries. The service was decent, but servers seemed fresh, with no offers of dessert, no recommendations of drinks, etc. Food took a while to come out for not being very busy.
Overall, wasn't bad but I won't be back. Just missed the mark for me.
Drinks were really good, and food was really fresh and good. I got the meatballs with baguette. My drink has watermelon and tequila.
The food is okay, I wasn’t a fan of the Alfredo. I feel like they’re way too overpriced for the portion.
However, the spinach dip was so good and highly recommend.
Our friends invited us here on a Saturday for early dinner. The atmosphere was nice and service too. We tried the Crab cake burger, it was ok. Also tried chicken parmasean, and spaghetti meatballs. Portions good. Blondie dessert kinda small. Would go back again.
Friendly fun service, great food, and the building was old, redone and full of character and decorated for the holiday season.
All the drinks are amazing, food is delicious and the customer service is great. Will keep coming back many times more
Cocktails were good but came out after our apps and entrees unfortunately. Food was a bit overpriced for the taste but you could tell the ingredients were good quality, just lacking in flavor. Service was wonderful though!
Great young vibe. Yummy food and attentive servers. Certainly on the list to come back to and explore more of the menu.
Delicious food and drink, Very good portion sizes. And an extremely friendly wait and manigerial staff. A very positive experience
The service and drinks were great, however the food fell flat. Lacked flavor the ahi was dry and flavorless and the tacos were very basic. A little spicy Mayo or teriyaki could of went a long way.
