Max's Restaurant reviews
16Very accessible, it’s near the mall and has its own free parking. Lots of seating inside with different configurations. Good variety of Filipino food, service was fast and the food tasted really great. Despite knowing how unhealthy consuming chicken skin is, you really can’t help but eat it, it’s really good. Kare kare was great, not a lot of meat in it, lotsa sauce. Lumpia was good too. I’d say prices were in the mid range.
This was my first time at Max's, a Filipino based chicken restaurant. My filipina girlfriend told me about this place, personally I love Jollibee! The thought was can Max's be as good.
As we entered the restaurant we were warmly greeted and escorted to our table. Moments later "Jerry" our server greeted us with a smile and gave us the menu, Jerry gets an A+ for friendliness! We placed our order of Pancit Canton, Laing (taro leaves simmered in coconut milk), Coconut palm egg rolls, friend chicken, calamansi and mango juice, and a favorite sisig.
The food was delivered HOT and ready to eat. The Pancit Canton, Very good!
The chicken very moist with great taste! Their chicken is placed in a brine of garlic, onion and other ingredients. Then steamed, then deep fried.
The Laing is something new for me. It was rich in taste and masarap!
The Sisig had a nice spice to it and was wonderful, one of the best I've had.
The egg rolls were great and made with coconut palm, dip it in their vinegar and you're set!
The drinks were bold with taste and refreshing.
Overall, I give this restaurant an A+ for their out going friendliness, the ambiance, the time it took from ordering to placing, and the taste of the food. We loved it.
Jollibee is great as well, but these are two different types of restaurants. Each are great. Max's Restaurants offers more traditional family style sit down. Jollibee is in a league of their own offering great chicken to go. Both A plus.
We were there yesterday; it was terrible. The beef soup was reheated and doesn’t taste good. The chopsoy was not fresh (reheated too). When the crispy pata was served I have to return it. Another reheated food; it was a terrible experience eating lunch over there. We have to pay it before we finish eating because the waiter has to go home. I think this restaurant should check the food; it’s should be fresh and quality. Waste of money plus traffic going there coming from Santa Monica. Not worth it.
Hello! I came here on my birthday with my boyfriend and i would just like to send an appreciation to a server named david! He was so quick and considerate with our needs, and sang happy birthday to me with a scoop of ube ice cream that was lit! Thank you david you’re very hard working and awesome! We felt so welcomed and it made the food taste even better, will return again!
Really good food, pretty authentic Filipino cuisine. We had the crispy fried chicken which they are known for and it was pretty awesome. Lechon kiwali which also was very good, as was the garlic fried rice. The fried chicken was really crispy and juicy at the same time and without the batter coating that is normally associated with fried chicken. Just super crispy chicken skin and it was really good. The lechon was really crispy also and the fat was rendered just right so as to make it melt in your mouth. The garlic fried rice was really good with the other two dishes and all in all a great meal. We will definitely be back for more and would definitely recommend it highly.
My moms birthday she loves this place then we got there they said something happened in the kitchen theyre not taking anyone in
Parking is with a $5 fee. We had to wait for more than an hour to be seated even when it was 1 pm. The place was packed. There was even a party in the function hall. Had to wait another 10 minutes for our food attendant. Our server was very polite and attentive.
We had chopsuey, crispy pata, kare kare, bangus sisig, garlic rice, Max’s fried chicken. Bangus sisig was burnt but our sever was kind enough to give us a new one when we told him it tasted different. Everything was good except for the Kare kare. You can tell that it was just kare kare mix they’ve put in the sauce unlike the traditional cooking.
All was well because we got full.
You favorite Filipino cuisine served hot and freshly cooked. Their desserts are amazing, especially the buko pandan and halo halo. Try their signature fried chicken, sinigang na baboy, and pinakbet. Bring your friends and family and enjoy
Great place to dine in. Staff were very accommodating. Service is fast and food is good. Top of the line is the Halo Halo. Highly recommended
Love coming here. Always a good experience with the company of family. Our waiter was always attentive and friendly. I recommend this place. Parking is at the mall and we just had to walk across the street.
Filipino restaurant with traditional cuisine and Fried Chicken as its specialty dish. The chicken is fried to a crisp and best served with banana catsup. The service is fast and the servers are nice and knowledgeable.
90 percent for phone take out order, the restaurant Max's never answered.
So disappointed especially if you're trying to support the business
You flies flying in the dining area!
Your server continuously serving dessert despite the table is full of dishes needed to be put away, thus your guests had difficulty finding space for the dessert. We called his attention about it, he preferred to what he needed to do.
Please take care of eliminating flies flying while your guest are dining.
Please give feedback to your servers regarding table clean up prior to serving the dessert.
Thank you.
For the authentic Filipino they will say it's not as good. It doesn't have enough grease, but for the non-filipino this place is the best representation of what Filipino food is.
Mmmhhh Filipino food, not only the chicken taste good but all the other available menu. Try the pork sisig ang you will not regret. I opt to park on the street, weekends, no restrictions, instead on-site due to limited parking space, fyi
Delicious! We thoroughly enjoyed fried chicken, pancit, fried lumpiang ubod, and crispy pata. I wish the kare-kare had more veggies. And the halo-halo is fantastic!
