Maya Cinemas Fresno 16 reviews
21Loved this movie theater, A. C.is very cold. They have customizable soda dispensers (sometimes limited sodas), and they are pretty clean. All workers are nice! This theater does do Wednesday family discount night for tickets as low as 5 dollars, I believe.
Comfortable seats and the popcorn had the right amount of salt! I recommend buying tickets ahead of time because there are only 2 payment stations. We went at a time that wasn't busy, so there wasn't anyone selling tickets at the front.
Movies at their finest they always have fun displays for great picture opportunities. Soda fountain where you can basically create your own soda. Also if you like butter they got butter pumps and different things to add to your popcorn.
Grand Tourismo is a movie to watch. You don't have a "racing fan" to appreciate to the movie overall and the storyline.
Though comfortable, seating is starting to show some signs of wear. I hope that might be addressed soon.
Women's Bathroom was trashed. They had 2 people working the snack register for at least 50 - 60 people in line. The apholstery is wearing out on the seats in theater 14 - glad I took my blanket as I was wearing shorts and the seats were scraping my legs. I won't be seeing a movie there anytime soon.
Some of the theater seats are showing signs of wear and squeak, but otherwise it's a nice movie theater.
The theater is conveniently located in a nice area next to Savemart center surrounded by restaurants and other stores. It's nice and clean.
No more greeter at the front door to check in mobile prepaid tickets.have to use kiosk which is a nightmare.when you get an influx of customers coming in on a sunday, it creates chaos having to wait in an additional line to get escorted in. Please seriously think about having a greeter at all times to scan tickets.
Was a nice theater employees were nice and very helpful.always have great service at the snack bar and box office.
August 20,2023: concession stand was quick and everyone was nice
The hot dog buns were soggy from sitting in the warmer for a while. Were gross For 5.50 you would think they would be better.
Like others have said, we went to go see Barbie and the screen was not the right size. Both the top and bottom of the screen was cut off making it impossible to read certain words. Also peoples heads were partially if not fully cut off during scenes with dialogue which was incredibly frustrating. Whoever the projectionist is at this theater should look into it because if other films are like this too, it is a huge problem and I cannot recommend this theater because of it.
Maybe it was just the Barbie movie, but the theater we were in, 7, could not fit the whole movie on the screen. It was really distracting watching a character speak without a forehead. And, in a few scenes whole heads (of speaking characters) were cut off. I feel like if you are a movie theater, you should figure out the proper dimensions for the common movie aspect ratios. At the very least, be able to adjust the projection to be able to see the whole movie.
I would have given this theater five stars, but there were two specific experiences that I feel justify a three star rating.
First off, the box office isn't used anymore (or at least not when we were there), so we go inside and use the kiosk to print our prepaid tickets. There are no signs anywhere, so we weren't sure if we needed to get in line to scan the barcodes on our ticket or what. I decided we would just go ahead and skip the line. That was only a hindrance due to bad organization on the theater's part. I assume it's due to their odd staging area for ticket buyers invades the entrance, and the ticket kiosk area. This is poorly thought out, and I noticed some people in line were forced to stand in the doorways, causing a traffic jam of ticket holders and ticket buyers.
But the biggest reason for taking off two stars is due to the fact that they turned on the house lights before the movie was over. We were there to see Jaws, and they turned the lights on during the climax! They just left them on for the rest of the movie. Ruined a big part of the moviegoing experience for all five of us.
I was very disappointed. I thought all theaters have upgraded their seating.like what's the point of reserving your seat if it's not the nice comfortable reclining lounge seats.we paid $$$ for hard old school seats.are you kidding me.wow.even Manchester movie theater has upgrades every seat to the nice couch seating.very disappointed
MAYA Cinemas Fresno 16 is excellent. They are always clean and comfortable. The employees are courteous, friendly and professional.
The cinema itself was decent: good service/staff. The RESTROOMS WERE FILTHY! You could nearly smell the stench from the doorway. You could tell it was cleaned with rancid supplies (it reeked as such, and you could see streaks and swirls).
Physically, this is a nice looking theater and the people working here are very nice, but the place is filthy everywhere. The beverage/ condiment bar areas are either empty or have stuff spilled all over the place. Restroom was disgusting and smelled bad, and the auditorium I was in had several broken seats. They do run a lot of good specials here but in general I’d stick to Regal theaters.
Screen's could be better they were a little dark and the seats were wet the floors were sticky it worked out only because everything else was booked so we thought we'd give it a try. In the arcade most of the games were out of order
Nice theatre inside, but the last three times we’ve visited in the last month the concession areas were extremely dirty and understocked. The condiments were runny like they had water added to them and the Coke tasted awful with way to much carbonation. The bathrooms were also a mess each of our three visits. On the plus side I will say that the employees are always kind and they stay busy to make sure the lines move quickly. Hopefully it will improve.
Everything was fine. However I was upset that they had no Coca-Cola. They were completely out. Hard to eat popcorn without a Coca-Cola. Out of dr. Pepper too. Bummer
