McConnell Chevrolet reviews
14They took care of a strange and debilitating issue with my 2021 BOLT EV. Plenty of head scratching involved. Glad to have the car back.
Service was ok, the only thing I disliked was the fact that they returned my recently washed vehicle with oil handprints on my hood and fenders.
I got a TrueCar offer from them to sell my car so went to get an appraisal and negotiate. They came back and would not honor even close to their online value. The sales representative was disorganized and missing staff from the office.
Very friendly staff and they had me set up with a new vehicle and on my way very reasonable amount of time. Overall I had a very good experience.
Our initial purchase was flawless and you delivered the car. We make our service appointments and the car is taken back in a timely manner. Everyone at the dealership has been awesome. We are taking about the search for another car-you will be our go too!
SHADY! The price the vehicle is listed for is BEFORE the MANDATORY charges for the already added clear coating, wheel locks, $1500 anti theft device, etc. We negotiated a price for a car, agreed, then they came back with the final summary with taxes, doc fees, license (the normal stuff) but had over $2k of the add ons. We explained that's not what we negotiated, and they said they were mandatory. We told them they were more than welcome to take the security system out, take off the wheel locks, etc but that we wouldn't pay for them. They then came back and said the car would cost $1500 more than we negotiated if we didn't purchase the hidden extras. The salesman Alan was awesome, everything else about this place is awful. That's probably why the car has been on their lot at least 3 months.
I had an old car that needed some work and everyone McConnell was so nice! Jose was amazing. Keeping me updated and working with me all the through the whole process! Thank you so much!
Unfortunately I can’t give zero stars. Beware of hidden costs on their vehicles. McConnell will list their vehicles online for a certain amount, then when you get into the dealership they’ll charge you that PLUS all of the additions that they evidentially add to every vehicle before they go onto the lot (example: like clear coating the doors on their vehicles). These are items that obviously you’re not asked if you want, so you don’t have the choice to refuse, therefore they require you to pay for these additions. The prices online don’t reflect any of their additions. They just try to slip them in there on you.
When we were negotiating the price with the salesman Alan (who was the ONLY positive part of McConnell) and he would go to give our offers to the sales manager, we were getting frustrated trying to navigate through all of the additions that they added that we didn’t want. We asked to speak directly to the sales manager to save time and headache, and when he came out to us he was IMMEDIATELY rude. When we told him the offer we were willing to give he asked with absolute major attitude “where we pulled that number from”. He was completely unwilling to even negotiate anything (isn’t that part of purchasing a car…?). We made it very clear that we were willing to purchase the vehicle on the lot that we were looking at, and when we asked if he was even interested in making a sale he let us know that he could easily sell it to someone else (mind you there was no one else in the lot or showroom and the car had been listed SEVENTY ONE days prior).
This place is super shady with their hidden additions that you’re expected to just deal with and their sales manager was awful. I’m just bummed I can’t remember his name (shorter Asian fella)
EDITED TO ADD: McConnell, your response to every single person leaving a poor review to the awful customer service should be an embarrassment to you. It’s a generic, blasé comment back, and it shows just how much you don’t really care about the problems your dealership faces. Clearly you’re also not doing anything to deal with the poor customer service since so many people have something to say about it. If you actually DID care about your dealerships reputation you’d be reaching out personally to contact each of us and offer an apology and solution.
We enjoy being able to drop the vehicle off for service and not finding hiding fees or calls to report or sell something else. I'm sure there will be a time as the vehicle gets older but it's refreshing to have such a solid and well built vehicle.
McConnell offers concierge service in a beautiful building in Healdsburg. Each time I take my Chevy Malibu there I can relax with a cup of coffee, snacks and plenty of good magazines. The service is thorough and takes only about an hour. All around, it is a very pleasant experience.
I spent 49,000 on a truck and had to replace the brake less then 3 months later. They said bring it in so they can charge me for replacing them. No thanks
This was the only dealership that sells the vehicle at MSRP. All other dealers I contacted wanted 2K to 6K above MSRP for the Bolt
The car was done earlier than what they said and I was able to pick it up on my lunch break it was awesome
They were courteous, I did not have to wait much, gave me a good introduction to my first ever battery electric car, quoted a fair price, and did not use pressure sales tactics.
