When I decided to do some reconstruction work in my house, finding the right contractor was the most intimidating part. There are plenty of options for remodeling contractors in Los Angeles, and that makes things even more confusing. However, after negotiating with 4-5 companies, I finally decided to go with MDM Custom Remodeling. They are based in LA, so that was a plus for me. They visited my place twice and I visited their office once. We did a proper agreement before starting the work, and I must thank Mike because of his transparency. I with my wife took up a task to find out a genuine construction company to build a master suit in the 2nd floor of our house that we have in LA. For quite some time, I was planning to renovate my house as per the changing needs. As you know, it’s not easy to get a remodeling contractor in Los Angeles. What I mean is that I had to struggle a lot to find the best deal from the best guys. I started the work with a company, and then I had to stop it halfway. It was not going as per the plan or expectation.

I am so excited and glad to write this review. MDM Custom Remodeling came to our rescue. We were completely clueless and needed help ASAP to remodel our entire house. We wanted everything pretty quick since the condition of the house was going down day by day after our previous contractor left the process midway. We wanted transparency in the project which was somehow missing with their working process. We got to know about Mike from a friend and called him immediately.

My house looks excellent and completely different now. Roughly a year ago, I with my wife decided to add a new 2nd floor in the house, completely unknown who to approach and how to proceed. Then one day we met Mike from MDM. And he made us feel that this was possible with our house. We discussed the project extensively including the budget, the kind of situations we might had to face, what are the things we had to consider etc. For the design part, we were completely dependent on Mike. And he did it brilliantly. We loved the design and were hoping to just see the same design in our house.
Mike is a responsible person. He knows his job and he value the emotion of his clients. We all share some kind of attachment with our house and he knows that very well.
When the construction process began, it wasn’t very hard for us because we were prepared for it. All the workers were very nice and the best part was the communication with Mike. We were in constant touch with him during the project. And we received regular updates of the project from the manager appointed. It took them 10 months to complete the project. And after all this time, my house looks excellent and completely different now. Countless thanks to Mike and his brilliant team.

It wasn’t an easy task, but Mike made it look so. I loved their concept and the way they composed the work. From day one you can realize that they are experienced. Mike has a superb team of skilled people and they know their job. They showed me 3 alternative 3D plans to choose from. I liked this concept. Their work is transparent and what I appreciate the most is that they are willing to discuss and know your ideas. Within a few weeks, they completed the entire work. We were looking for contractors to add a second floor in the house. Kids are growing up and we wanted to give them their own space. Finding a reliable contractor was getting a bit delayed since we couldn’t find the perfect fit. Then we got to know about MDM and its owner Mike. We were not very hopeful to be very honest because previously we had a chat with almost half a dozen contractors. And none of them were good enough (in our opinion). But Mike was really different from them all. While others were solely focusing on our concepts for the project and were saying what we couldn’t do, Mike was full of ideas and suggestions. Mike was very straight forward with his ideas and we decided to hire MDM for the project. Mike did all the design work for the 2nd floor. He also helped us with the permit. And finally, the construction began. The floor includes a master suite, an office room, a bedroom and bathroom. All the workers were very professional and good in nature. They were always very respectable to our privacy. The cleanliness of the job site was clearly maintained. And the project was finished within the time frame offered by MDM. When I first decided to add a master suite on the 2nd floor of my house, I was kind of overwhelmed with the thought. I was thinking of designing and planning all the stuff by myself. But it wasn’t leading me to anywhere for sure. Then I contacted Mike from MDM. A lot of my friends had remodeled their house, added extra floor or room in the house with Mike and his team. So, he was my obvious choice. And thank God that I hired MDM for the job. Mike did all the design and planning part and also, he guided me through the building permit process. Since Mike and Shawn are vastly experienced, I didn’t find any flaw in the design they sent me via email. I approved that and the construction began.

Everything was so professionally managed that I had zero headache. Before the beginning of the project, Mike provided me a detailed quote with a contract. I was also provided the details of all the crew members who were going to present at the job site. This was really helpful. I had complete knowledge of the project and what was going on where. It was a 6 months long project and with the experience of Mike and Shawn, the project ended smoothly. My master suite is ready now and it looks lavish. Mike kept his words that the budget wouldn’t exceed the quote.
