The worst internet service I have had since AOL days! Service regularly gets spotty or goes down. Contact mobile bot and it puts us through the same routine every single time: Disconnect, reboot, schedule technician, etc. Then hours later, the service comes back on and they cancel the technician appointments. Why can't they detect problems with their own servers and connections before putting us through this routine? ! No apologies, or account credits - nada.

Increased price suddenly by $30 / mo.without notification just w/drew from acct w autopay. Apparently it goes up every year by $30. Service outages lasting hours or up to a whole day at least once a month without prior warning.it's the norm. Uses old copper wires that give internet service preference to higher paying customers. If everyone is using internet at the same time, it stops working. Unreliable. They were the only internet provider in ridgecrest so customer service is not good. They don't have to be nice if it's a monopoly. Thank goodness frontier set up fiber service in RC.i've been using frontier at a different location for 3 yrs and so far the price is the same.

This company deserves a ZERO, 75$ a month for up to 1 GB, and i have to constantly reset my modem. How can 1 laptop, 1 TV, and 1 phone be causing the connection to drop? "About 2 months later update": Internet still trash, latency issues, dropped internet, and if you hook up more than 3 electronics, the internet router needs reset.

What kind of joke is it that I cannot call for 30 days because I had some kinda "tech" out to my house and he could not fix the internet. He has only been with Mediacom for 8 months, so that tells me you sent an installer out. How bout sending a damn tech out. You better be prepared and be willing to start crediting my account for every day I am with out your service. Don't call for 30 days. WOW! OH I WILL BE CALLING EVERY DAY! That's a promise. By the way I am in Wofford Heights, CA. 93285

You won’t get past Tier 1 support even if you try. Just stuck doing restarts on modems and routers. Hire techs not robots. Update 06/08/23: still having the same problem. Good thing Race is having a sale on T1 lines.

Horrible. My internet went out Thursday when there was an outage and never came back on. I called, emailed and text to fix the issue and they told me they would send a technician out on WEDNESDAY. Almost a week later. Everything runs on internet, tv, phone, speakers, Alexa. Unrealistic time frame. I barely had their service for 2 months and went against what my neighbors were saying and gave them a try anyways. Regrettably.

Absolute worst internet provider I’ve ever had. I would not have gone with mediacom but there’s no other options. Internet is spotty and doesn’t work 30% of the time, i feel like they’re robbing me

Worst product ever! I spent 2 hours trying to install the Ultimate Internet Security. After finally getting a hold of the company, the reps were so rude to me and hung up on me 3 times. Turns out the software won't work unless I cancel my existing internet and buy their service. Do not buy any product from this awful company! I can't wait for them to go out of business

Absolutely awful! Way too expensive. The service works only about 75% of the time. Takes 30 minutes to pay your bill. T Do yourself a favor and run away as fast as you can before you even talk to these crooks.

This is by far the worse internet service I have ever had. It is horrendously unreliable for pretty much any use case. There would be periods of a few weeks with no issues and then suddenly I would have nothing but issues that sometimes get resolved by calling in techs. I would get issues such as very low, less than 1Mbps upload speeds, very high packet loss, very high latency, frequent disconnects and sometimes straight up no connection at all. The techs did their best to fix the issues but all of their efforts were just band-aid solutions to a much bigger problem.

Some of the techs that came out would comment that the line going to the cable tap outside my home was meant to be a temporary line. However, that temporary line is still the one in use today and it is more prone to issues than a proper permanent line. The techs can only really fix issues coming from the tap to your modem and then they have to call maintenance for issues outside of that. If there is an even larger issue, then that will escalate to a construction issue. Replacing that temporary line I believe would be a construction level issue and fixing that would be a significant step in giving my home more reliable service. However, I don't think Mediacom ever did that. I have heard that because construction issues are expensive, that a lot of the time they don't go resolved. Since Mediacom held a monopoly for high speed internet in this town, they had no real incentive to improve their infrastructure because where else would you go? Frontier did not have fiber, only very slow DSL. Mediacom was the only real option if you wanted high speed wired internet, at least, until 2022 when fiber arrived into town.

Now that we have fiber, we have Race Communications and Frontier Fiber. I switched to Race in a heartbeat as soon as I could. Race has 1Gbit up/down speeds, much better latency (Mediacom routes traffic to Georgia for some reason?), no data caps, much better pricing, and of course no reliability issues for me. If Mediacom continues with their complacent way of running their ISP, they will quickly lose the vast majority of their customers as soon as fiber is available in the entire town.

The woman at the counter at this location is very nice and helpful. Contrary to how mediacom makes it seem, they do NOT automatically enroll you in auto pay even though you opt in. You have to go in afterwards and set it up yourself. After being gone for over a week I came home to no internet and past due notices in the mail. I went in person, she set it all up for me and waived the fees and my internet was back on immediately.

3 days so far THIS TIME that internet is out due to the wind. They came last week and said that their line is faulty but they won’t come fix it. Paying $125/mo for less than 15 days/ mo of service is outrageous. IF I COULD GIVE 0 stars I would.
