Mediterranean Cafe

Ordered 2 Gyros, one in a Pita and the other on Greek Salad. The meat is terrible, tastes like rubber. No red Sauce (tomato sauce) which is completely unacceptable for this traditional Mediterranean food. And it's owned by Mexican people which is another problem because it is not authentic. Never again!

Love this place for a good Mediterranean meal. Nice home cooking reminds me of the old country!

Yes, the owner is nice, service was not an issue for us, the food for the most part was delicious. We got the lunch for two. The falafel are way way to salty. The dolma was wet. Otherwise the kabobs were got pita was hot and fresh and there was plenty of seating

Lovely spot in Hillcrest. I consider this place my breakfast or brunch spot, which helps cut away from the typical American breakfast. My metabolism runs fast and a complete meal keeps me full for a good 6 hours without feeling the crash.

My first order was wonderful food was warm and seasoned well. I love lamb.it was well seasoned. I ordered the second time and I got cold pizzas and two small pizza.this was going to be my favorite place.but they are not Consistent, it’s a hit or miss.glad i waited for second order…

Some of the best Mediterranean food i've ever had! Travelled all over and its hard to find places that nail the flavor with the family love and touch that a good Mediterranean restaurant needs to be perfected. Grab one of the greek beers while you wait and make sure to have a chat with the owner. Amazingly nice folks and such good food. 10/10 i will be a repeat customer for a long time now!

The food Is really good! I usually order the chicken kebab lunch special for $10.39 and includes a drink. The workers are very nice as well. Great customer service skills.

Good food at a great price. Rare to see an old school mom and pop restaurant. The owner took my order super friendly guy. He cares about his customers and keeps prices down. Same meal down the street literally was 2x the price.

Wonderful & personalized service. I've been dining in for years and I've been lucky enough to have the same front end manager & chef team, they work really well together! Today's visit I splurged and ordered the lamb shank plate, extra grilled veggie kabob and key lime pie to go.

I was hangry having just come from the dermatologist. My young doctor kept insisting that I had early pattern baldness & needed Rogaine for women. Oy! Clearly I was vexed and needed to eat my way through a Mediterranean meal. It took him a while to prepare, the dishes came out and I was floored! The lamb was flavorful & delicious with seasoned long grain barmaid & salad with dressing on the side. I stuffed myself & still took half home in leftovers floated out $28 + happier! (They have fancy new Snapple bottles of juice & sparkling water!)

The food is AMAZING, however, the last two times we’ve ordered food, the orders were terribly incorrect. Half the food was missing, or the items were totally wrong. Not sure what happened to the management

Food is really good but they have supply and service issues. I placed an order at about 5pm on 11/10 and they were out of something. He called and while trying to figure out how to handle it the person on the line just said it was too complicated and to cancel my order. Extremely rude and unprofessional and canceled my order. I was not unreasonable, he just did not want to do his job today. I am hungry and upset.

The owner is so kind. Today when it was very hot he was giving soda and water out to everyone who came in free! I love it here! The chicken kabob lunch special is my favorite. Nowhere in San Diego can you get anything like this.it's actually filled a LOT of chicken and very unusual for specials.is that if you ask to substitute side dishes you can! Eg I don't want French fries and I often ask for double salad. Prices are fantastic! I still would like to have the lamb shank. Every friend I have suggested this place to has loved it. The chicken Shwarma sandwich is not the same as the kabob. I strongly prefer kabob. Shwarma is good but it is cut up in much smaller pieces. I have been going here for many years and I'm very glad that they survived during covid. Decor is not fancy but the foods delicious! People were so grateful to the owner today sooo hot inside! He gladly put on fans.told us it won't help much but grab a drink. If it's very hot perhaps go Inside and order to go. Parking can be a bit tricky but you WILL find it and it's a lovely area so no need to worry at night! I like homade baklava too. Absolutely best prices. Best owner and excellent food!

They have a great deal for the lunch specials. Nothing spectacular but you can get a meal with Pita, salad and rice for under $9 is great. The owner working behind the counter is nice. If I’m in the area for lunch in the future, I’ll try some other dishes.

Ordered on Uber eats, the restaurant asked the Uber driver how many in you’re order instead of asking for the name on the order. Uber driver showed up with one meal instead of three. Called the restaurant and they confirmed it was the wrong order told me to handle with Uber and that they will deliver said food but in reality Uber unfortunately doesn’t work that way. Giving them one star for the miscommunication unfortunately and not knowing to how to handle business properly.

This entire meal tasted of depression and perpetual sadness. Soggy pita bread and cold Basmati Rice, warm tomatoes.the list goes on.
I'm certain my meal was prepared even before it was ordered.
This was my second attempt to get a decent meal here.with another miserable fail.
I should have just eaten cereal and saved myself the food poisoning.
