Meijo Sushi reviews
16Amazing Sushi and cold beers, this is a local favorite with affordable sushi rolls and great atmosphere. They are very welcoming and i always enjoy their food.
Love this place, I haven’t found anything to complaint about, ramen is delicious, hand rolls and sushi. Staff are welcoming
I loved the food, service is kind of so so.
And the place needs some remodeling, look old and forgotten.
I have given Meijo five stars in the past but I will have to take one star away. On several occasions in recent months I had the misfortune of being denied service because they were closing soon. Mind you that "soon" was as much as 45 minutes before closing. Considering how fast their service is, I would have ordered, been served and finished on time to be out of there before closing. Very disappointing.
I called in my order for combo plate b and a rainbow sushi roll. It was ready by the time I got there within 10 minutes. I was greeted by two people immediately when I walked in the door. Very good customer service. My father enjoyed his plate very much and I enjoyed the rainbow sushi roll. It was so fresh and delicious.
Please stay away from this place. Their micro dishes pieces in their "Meiji Sushi Combo" are a complete joke. The water had no ice. Their green tea was served in a cup, not in a pot as it is the norm. Waiter was eating right next to us and made us uncomfortable to interrupt his meal to ask him for something after placing our order (such as ice for example).
Love the sushi in this place, and i have been a customer for many years and i would definitely come back.
Food was so delicious and very very reasonably priced! Very quick getting the food out and they do NOT skimp on the presentation. Beautiful and so yummy. I recommend the Seared Ahi Roll
The sushi was pretty good but our food to go (teriyaki beef bowl and teriyaki chicken bowl) was very, very shy on meat. Very disappointing.
Cool local sushi spot here in IB. I moved back from Los Angeles after 7 years and this was my first time trying this place. Had the Salmon and tuna sashimi along with the dragon roll, kamikaze and seared ahi tuna roll. I’m very pleased with the overall freshness and quality of the sushi but I wasn’t a fan of the dragon roll but more so because I don’t like deep fried sushi / tempura anymore. 4- stars for now because this was my first time here. I still have several sushi rolls and good to eat! This may change once I find my overall favorite sushi rolls but for now, Bravo.
By the way- this is local sushi joint. It’s not high end fancy, doesn’t have the low dark lighting- this place has some age but it appears their food quality is high for sure. Great for local and chill people.
Great service! Good food. The rolls we smaller than some places, and therefore easisr to eat. I did not really enjoy the california rolls on my bento plate, but loved the orange salad dressing. Miso soup if different. Garlic edamame very generous and tasty. I would go back to try other appetizers and entrees!
I placed an order to go, it was 5 rolls of sushi and almost $70 worth of food. We were only able to get through two rolls of sushi because the other 3 tasted really bad. The rolls seemed like they were prepared in a hurry and every piece fell apart. Definitely wouldn’t go back or recommend this place to anyone.
This restaurant is my preferable place. Of all restaurants I know I favor it most. I always suggests to my friends to go to this restaurant. Whenever I feel like having a special lunchon, this is the place that comes right away to my mind.extremely good and varied food and a large list of dishes.helpful staff members, and nice atmosphere. Not less important, the expence is fair. I sent my friends to this restaurant with great pleasure.
Per arriving, we were seated immediately, always a great thing. The waitress was friendly and took drink orders right away. We ordered calamari and sushi poppers as appetizers and several different sushi rolls. Appetizers came out fairly quickly, was fresh and delicious. The sushi poppers were different in a good way, honestly recommend if you like a kick. The sushi followed shortly, there were 3 that we ordered came out altogether. Caterpillar, volcano, and rainbow roll. Volcano was my fave, it was bomb. Caterpillar came in second was really good as well. The rainbow was good, but was not the rainbow I expected, it only had 3 type of fish on top, when usually I've had it with shrimp and avocado at the top as well. But nonetheless good. Prices were inexpensive. I like the intimicay of the place and the cleanliness. Great for a date, or a family celebration. I'd definitely come back. Thank you meijo!
Amazing vibes and amazing food! Chill atmosphere and really attentive service. Loved the sushi
