I'm re-posting my review from Yelp to every other review site that matters:

Brought my Mini Cooper here for a battery replacement because my comfort access had stopped working, and 2 other mechanics told me that was the cause. Through a communication error that was probably only 50% their fault, my battery was replaced but the comfort access was still not fixed. It's not the end of the world, but I was pretty bummed because I really love that feature and rely on it pretty heavily. After I paid for the battery and left, Nick took the initiative to do some research on his own, then called me up the next morning and filled me in on what he'd found out. He also offered to do a diagnostic free of charge to confirm the issue, whether I had him do the repair or not. He even offered to sync up with whatever other mechanic I hired to fix it.

Needless to say, I brought the repair to him. It was dianosed and fixed in a day, and I only had to pay $180 for the repair (not the $200 diagnostic).

Honestly I'm still kind of gobsmacked. I've had good service from mechanics before, but I've never experienced this level of integrity and desire for a positive outcome. Nick took the initiave and demonstrated a great deal of empathy and proactive problem solving for something that was, tbh, not a huge functional problem.

Any time I have a choice in where to get repairs done (ie, as long as I don't break down far away), I will gladly commute the hour from Penngrove or SF to get my car worked on here.

P. S. They also gave me some pretty sound insurance advice.

Excellent service. My car was making a beeping noise, and I couldn’t tell where it came from. They found the source of the noise and fixed it at a reasonable price. They told me upfront what the price would be, and what they would do to fix the car. Then they followed through. I highly recommend this company. They are honest and fair.

After buying my dream car, I wanted to have a "Go to" mechanic. I had narrowed it down to two local businesses. When I called the shop in San Rafel to ask how much a brake fluid flush was for my 4 series BMW, I was told $168. I called Mellow Motors with the same question, Liz said $178 but I then asked if there was a difference if it was an M vehicle? She yelled back to Nick, who responded. No, same price. So, wanting to be fair, I called the shop in SR back and asked if it made a difference if it was a M vehicle? The response.yes, absolutely, it's $225 and that it took an extra 15 min. I wasn't trying to trick anyone but that folks is how you get a new customer.

The fast, friendly, and efficient folks at Mellow Motors are a pleasure to work with. I highly recommend.

I have been going to Mellow for over 30 years. I took my BMW to Nick with an A/C problem. His diagnosis was compatible with what I believed needed repair. As the car is very old I decided not to make the repair. True to form Mellow does not push repairs that the customer does not want. Being the professional company I respect I will always return with my car repairs.

Can’t give a high enough review for Mellow Motors, have been having my cars serviced here for years even though I live on the other side of the bay. The whole establishment is exemplary in their work and service.

Mellow keeps my 2015 Volvo in top shape! I gave up the dealer years ago because Mellow does the work needed at fair cost.

The folks at Mellow Motors are friendly, efficient, professional, and looked after my best interests. Other places recommend unnecessary service, but Nick is honest and straight-forward.

Alternator replacement. Great communication and transparency. Shop is clearly super-well organized and managed. Owner called in advance of repair to explain guarantees, warranties, etc. I will definitely return.
