Mendocino Farms, Carlsbad CA

I was charged $2.10 for avocado added in my Peruvian Steak sandwich but when I got home, there was no avocado added in my sandwich. It's only $2.10 but if it's done to multiple customers then it's a substantial amount of money being profited by the resto at the expense of innocent customers. Check your order before leaving.

My first time there. I fell in love with the Chimichurri Steak & Bacon sandwich. Can't wait to go back and order something else.

Love the food and service! Some Favorites are -the not so friend chicken sandwich, the sweet heat crispy Thai chicken sandwich, the pomegranate mint lemonade. Great service always esp from employees Angel and Andrew! Thanks!

We have gone here multiple times, more than 5. Every single time it takes them over an hour to make 4 sandwiches. Today, they "lost" our salads and had to wait and additional 20 minutes after already waiting an hour past the time they said our food would be ready. All they did was offer us one free drink.

I like the place. Nice & clean. The cashier dude with curly hair and nail polish—totally awesome, friendly, knowledgeable, and helped me pick a good sandwich! I’d come back just for the service! I got the pesto, chicken, caprese panini/sandwich. The flavors were great! I only wish it was more melty, maybe a different cheese? I get that they use mozzarella because of the caprese part. Also, the bread wasn’t as toasty/crispy as I would like on a panini. The sandwich tasted as fresh as it looks! The salads, soups, other sandwiches looked & sounded great. Will return for something else.

We love Mendocino Farms, always a good lunch spot, but lately there has been a considerable drop in quality.

I do want to make it clear, we have not dined-in in a long while, this has all either been to-go delivery.

We have a couple of usual items that we always order, the Superfood Ensalada and Curried Cous Cous. Both excellent items that have always been delicious.

The salad, is awesome, good variety of textures with the crunchies, avocado, corn, etc. The dressing is also delicious and goes well with the salad. Seriously an all-time favorite salad for me.

The curried cous cous is so good, spicy, yet creamy, such a good side to order when getting really anything from Mendo.

I have also tried some soups, and the Pork Belly Banh Mi is also excellent.

So, I wanted to share how much we love eating here before getting into the recent criticism.

Lately, we have been getting our usual salad, and the proportions have just been off. One of the ingredients that they top the salad with is Cotija cheese, usually it's a small amount, used to complement the other flavors in the salad, last time we ordered it, it felt like someone was dusting out salad with the cheese, but the top fell off of the cheese container because it was super excessive.

The other incident that happened was that we ordered some cous cous and it tasted like it went bad, very disappointed that we probably received an old item that was past it's shelf life.

They are usually good, and I am hoping that these are some isolated incidents, but I think we will take a break from going here until they figure out these quality issues.

Really like this place! Only things are:
- Sandwich bread too HARD & too big for our mouths-makes a mess & way too hard to eat! Pls give us softer, thinner bread choices!
- No sodas! There are heathier soda choices, pls add them!
- Add a tortilla chip alternative, so we can choose something different!

I really like the not-fried chicken sandwich - delicious! Just a MESS & too hard to eat & bread too hard. Thx & I do recommend trying this place!

I ordered the hot peach and procuito sandwich and the beet salad via door dash.holy crud was it delicious! Amazing.

I called this place because their online ordering was down. I called an hour before and I even got there 10 min later than my expected time and it still wasn’t even ready. I also got added kids meal I never ordered! All I got was sorry and bc of the refund I had to get and my salad to be prepared I was late to my meeting. Sorry doesn’t cut it! They need more ppl at the register because the line is insane. They used to have great service but it’s gone downhill!

If you are looking for a great place to get a refreshing meal, I want to recommend Mendocino Farms in Carlsbad! This was such a GREAT first time experience.
When my friend and I arrived and approached the menu board we were intrigued with the options. We were approached with a cheerful smile and asked if it was our first time. We both smiled and said yes. After asking a few questions regarding the menu we made our decision. The name of this cheerful young lady with a beautiful smile was Olivia. She also confirmed that they honor *Military* discounts! And gave me mine. That will definitely add to my reason to support the business. We had the pleasure of meeting the general manager, Jeremiah. He was very hands on with the staff as well as the establishment. I not only saw him help his team with bussing tables, he also picked up trash and disposed of it. Seeing a general manager be so engaged with a smile for his staff was real refreshing.
The food portions are large and very reasonably priced.
The outside patio (where we chose to sit) was beautiful and very clean.
The ladies restroom was fresh, clean and well stocked.
Tables and chairs were all wiped down and looked inviting.
In addition to family friendly, this is a dog friendly establishment and the dogs present were all well mannered.
There are a couple areas that have chalk boards to keep the kids entertained.
So whether you are looking to place an order for pick up, you want to dine in or relax on the patio, I highly recommend Mendocino Farms Carlsbad for your next bite to eat.

Why is this the only location with poor service? From the counter to the prep of the food this is a sad shadow of other locations. There’s one at UTC and fashion valley - both have the level of service Mendo promises. We’ll skip this location and suggest our smart friends do the same. This location seems to be on their own program. The manager elijah (?) appears to be the source of poor training.

We just came back after 10 mo and it’s worse if that’s possible. Should close this location… it’s nothing like the other locations at all - such a bummer.:/

Love this place but not really this location - UTC has better function for what it’s worth - food is still good - they get off track on the things like not cleaning tables during slow times and not cleaning silverware - food is still generally good - just doesn’t seem to function as well on those things and customer service -

All ingredients of salad were not disclosed on menu, making it impossible to ask for a deletion of allergen. Chinese Chicken Salad is COVERED with onions in spite of the fact that they are not mentioned in the description of the salad, which is why I chose it.

I’m never disappointed with a “Mendo” but this location went above and beyond. The staff was very helpful and accommodating when I brought in an elderly family member with mobility issues. To see folks be so kind was just heartwarming. The meal was, as always, phenomenal. We both ordered salads and fountain drinks. I love the beet and goat cheese salad (fka Dave Drake Farms). Love the light, airy vibe, and even a spot for kids to play.

Menu options were crazy awesome. Food itself was 5-star. The way they delivered the food was a bit wierd but the staff was friendly and great. Nice area of bressi ranch. Will go here again.

Based off cleanliness alone especially the bathroom, floor is so sticky and just all around filthy. This location is always busy so it’s backed up and everything is just thrown together. Will not be going to this location anymore.

My boss and I were in town visiting from Ohio and we were absolutely blown away by the amazing service and food from Mendocino farms. Specifically, Sarah was outstanding and extremely personable. She gave us great advice on the best beach destination and saved us each an order of the couscous for dinner upon our return. The beet/goat salad and couscous were both delicious and the sweets were great as well. The entire staff was extremely kind and willing to help on tourist adivcr anf with food. We will 100% be back if we return to Carlsbad. One of the best customer service experiences I have ever had and I worked as a server for 8 years.

I usually love this place but i literally got two slices of meat for this 16 dollar sandwich. And one of pieces was impossible to chew. Absolutely ridiculous. I guess make sure to check your orders before you leave, I don’t even know. It’s not usually like this but really makes me hesitant to go again.
