I wish no stars was an option. My birth plan and very direct needs were never even close to met. I felt heard literally until the day I went into labor. My huge day, I was treated as another piece of equipment at work instead of a human being going through the biggest day of my life trying to have the best experience I could. It was really sad and incomprehensible how disregarded my feelings and needs were. They honestly should be put out of practice.

If I could give ZERO stars I would. My 2 year old son was was attacked by a dog and the ER drs couldve killed my son. He had fluid leaking out of his head and they said he was fine, well we were flown to UC Davis because of the extent of the fracture and they took one look at his head and told me he could've died if we didn't get there when we did due to the leakage of fluid coming out of his head,

Would give ZERO STARS IF IT WOULD LET ME! The RN are a bunch of high school gossiping little girls that think they are superior and can do no wrong also apparently the security runs that place asked him to get out of my room as I was not dressed NAKED UNDER MY GOWN HE SAID THIS IS MY HOUSE I CAN DO WHATEVER I WANT! Got this all on camera so everyone can see what a wonderful hospital we have in redding ca y’all are a joke and I’m coming for your jobs

Two EV chargers at the largest hospital in far Northern California? Even worse, both latch locking mechanisms on both plugs are broken!

Went there to get my last vaccine for rabies exposure. Every other time went fine. This time we were given discharge paperwork before treatment and somehow got discharged before we even got our vaccine. We sat there from 330pm to 830pm waiting for a vaccine that was never coming with our 2 children for 5 hours. They looked me up in the system and said I was discharged even though I never got my shot. Hopefully this doesn't happen to someone in need of serious help.

Even though I had an amputation. The nurses and doctors were fantastic! I would definitely come back to this hospital, all thought hopefully I won't. Lol

Highly do not recommend. My mother died here. She went an entire night without pain medication after a botched surgical procedure & was then refused X-Rays and CT scans after asking multiple times before her death. We never got an apology or anything from the doctor after the fact. Unfortunately I’ve heard of other patients dying here too from simple procedures or just lack of knowledge about certain diseases or conditions. I’m aware Redding is small, but please find somewhere else to go.

On January 5,2023 I was having a stroke and I am mental health, the way I was treated by the Mercy ground ambulance driver" Summer Smith" EMT makes me want to commit suicide
She pulled me by my oxygen tubes and over ruled my stroke, and said I was intoxicated because I was rambling off the top of my head
This EMT at mercy Unit #116 is NOT TRAINED TO DEAL WITH STROKE PATIENTS THAT ARE MENTAL HEALTH
it's sad, she left me in the lobby to die
And her boss Jason Swan is a very nice guy, The plant of operations Shon Monson Dodged my subpoena for the Shasta Regional E. R video so good I lost my case,
BUT EVERYONE ELSE AT MERCY IS REALLY SUPER DUPER DUPER NICE

Honestly, I haven’t been to other emergency rooms but they have to be better than this. Staff is friendly but there is so much that is wrong. Floors are dirty (blood, dirt, who knows), things are broken, bathrooms are not cleaned enough. An example of something broken, see video of door banging against the rail every time it opens. Wednesday I was here and spent 8 hours for pain and didn’t get medicine for hours. And unfortunately doctor said I had to come back. He said if I came early on Sat I should be in and out in a two hours. Well I got here 6 am, the place was pretty empty, got labs done in the two hours and then they said they wanted to do another test and it would be quick. So they put me back in a room and told me to sit in the chair (not the bed, there was no blanket or pillow). Didn’t hear from anyone for an hour, had to flag down a nurse who said they would try to find out for me. For her to finally bring someone and say they are really busy and it will be a much longer wait. I understand there is triage, but don’t say one thing and not follow through. Or put me back in an empty room to forget about me. There is something very wrong with their ED system.

Don't recall much due to pain level upon arrival but had to wait standing up in ER wait area for what seemed to be a very long time. When I asked what the approx time to be seen, I was told 6-8 hours. There seemed to be no urgency or plan to expedite or speed up patient stay time. I almost left before even being triaged. Once I was moved to another wait area much smaller and still quite uncomfortable. "Waiting for tests to be reviewed, " continued for quite some time and once it became evident that this could take even more time, I told staff I was going home so I could have a place to lay down and someone could call me with results. I was unable to call for results as I was marked left ama. Was able to access online results and followed up with my own doctor for care, x-ray and MRI. The only thing that seemed fast was the billing and my cost for signature.

My father was airlifted here for a sudden emergency within the last 2 days. My mother had provided the airlift staff a list of his prescribed medications and pre-existing conditions such as diabetic and MS. After his arrival none of the on-site staff apparently knew of any of these medications nor his pre-existing conditions. They refused to communicate with my father's neurologist where they would have learned he has a brain bleed and what had occurred was most likely a stroke, though they claim in MRI scans everything looks "normal" and proceeded to recommend (or even start the process thereof) to put my father in physical therapy. The prospect of physical therapy is going to solve, what? My father has been wheelchair bound and fully disabled for years.

I understand emergency centers are hectic places where life and death are always in the balance. But for nurses, doctors, and supporting to staff to be so uncoordinated and seemingly apathetic to getting information to best help a patient - from my father's direct caregiver or provider. This center has wasted so much of everyone's time, effort, and patience by performing numerous tests to "discover" my father's condition - something they would have immediately learned about had they actually paid attention to what my mother tried multiple times to relay to them and/or communicate directly with his providers in Medford, OR.

Perhaps other departments here are great, maybe even excellent. But if you had a choice or say in the matter to go elsewhere for an emergency, I would strongly recommend you explore that option before coming here.

There was one nurse named Gabe who was the best of Human Kindness that Dignity Health raves about. He works night shift during the week on the second floor in the orthopedic ward. He was happy to bring me anything I needed, and he changed the bed when was necessary in the middle of the night. I was constantly cold and he was always happy to bring me another warmed blanket or water, or a snack,
or raise the bed. I give him an accomodation for taking the time to be patient, listening to me, replying and making me feel important.

I have been admitted to Mercy in May June and August each time the doctor's and nursing staff have been world class. They have saved my life at least 4 times in these stays. I am so happy to say that the nurses are always there to do what you need wether its to keep you comfortable in bed or just listen when you are having an off day. Thank you to everyone who has touched my life. You are all Rock Stars.

Went to emergency via ambulance with severe back pain, could not walk or move. I was treated by a woman who's demeanor was noncaring, like I was putting her out. She treated me like some homeless person just wanting drugs, I just wanted releif. Went back to ER the next day, my physician said go back if your in pain, I did, no worries Sat in the waiting room until there was a bed, that day the nurse was very caring. I have never been in such pain. Sadly I won't go back to Mercy.

ER was packed with people, however the staff was working like synchronized swimming, professional and attentive.
