3 Everyone we interacted with at the Merritt House Hotel was charming, helpful, and extremely professional. Rafaela and Tracy at the front desk were great! The location of the hotel is perfect, and the grounds are lovely. 5 stars for these categories.
However, the rooms in the Historic Adobe where we stayed for 2 days smelled terrible. Very musty and moldy. We propped a fan in front of a window, left the front door open, bought a bottle of vinegar, and put cups of it all around the suite – everything we could think of to help mitigate the odor. After several hours, it got a little better but never went away.
If you're going to charge over $400 per night for a hotel room, the room should not have this issue. For anyone considering staying in the Historic Adobe, I would advise confirming in advance that steps have been taken to fix this issue.
Lovely quaint hotel that offered all that we expected. Spacious, comfy room, pleasant staff. Breakfast was basic but included all the essentials. Our one complain was that the hot water in the shower was less hot than we would have liked. Maybe this saves on water usage - it did with us!
We had a wonderful time at Merritt House. The staff was extremely kind and was quick to respond over the phone / via texts. The room was super cool and they provided a bottle of wine for the special occasion we were celebrating. Walking distance to everything you need. HIGHLY recommend
