4 of us dinned there on a Friday night, we ordered three dishes to share. All three dishes were not good at all. By far one of the worst Mexican foods I had and I am not going back there.

Fresh, authentic tasting food. The mole had excellent balance of spice, sweet, and smoky. Portion size was good and service friendly and helpful.

I had the chicken enchiladas with mole. They don’t roll the enchiladas it’s just served the way it shows on the plate. It was very good though. Their freshly made guacamole was super delicious! My date had the enchiladas Suiza and he said it was great. My only complaint would be that our waiter got pretty busy and took a long time getting back to us.

Went there and had dinner before going to the Improv. Service was fantastic, but it was also quiet for a Friday evening. Food was just ok, nothing we had really impressed me much. Drinks are great, mezcal selection is amazing. But I will look for another spot before considering coming back here.

Horrible! First time and will never be back again. I was there this past sunday and had their tamal oaxaqueño with mole and that landed me in the hospital. I had to go to the e.r. From profuse vomiting and diarrhea, not to mention severe muscle cramps and spasms due to dehydration as a result of all of that. My Dr.did confirm that it was food poisoning.
First time here and for starters the staff including the waiter didn't seem too interested. The food did seem a lil funny but, I had never had this type of food before so I ate it, it was not very tasteful either. Low and behold I've been suffering from this food poisoning for close to a week now.
My experience with this restaurant was soo bad that I have made a point to tell others close to me to never go there. I hope this helps others. None of this is intended in bad spirits, it was just my experience there and that is all I'm stating. If others have had a good experience there then kudos, unfortunately I'm suffering right now.

We ate here after a movie and the drinks were really good and the dinner was great. Really everything about the experience was good.

Really interesting cocktails and dishes! The cocktails are heavily focused on mezcal and the dishes on mole, so if you aren't fond of those, this isn't the best restaurant for you. If you like smokey flavors though, you'll love it!

It’s definitely a tourist trap/instagram place. The food quality is pretty mediocre, you’re better off going to another place. The quality of the meat was basically the fatty part of the beef, very dried crumbled up tortilla, the chips are served cold, the mole de pollo basically mole sauce and they just decided to slap a chicken slice and call it a plate. The overall quality of the food is just sad. The drinks are actually decent and at least the service is polite and decent. If I’m paying a tab of over $120, I expect to be satisfied with my dinner and that was not the case here.

OK but the food didn't have much taste to me. Mostly sour. Service was marginal - made us use online menu which didn't have bar drinks on it, finally got physical menus and they didn't have any soft drinks listed. We had to guess, not knowing what they offered. Wait staff didn't offer to guide us in selections; we had to hammer him with specific questions. It was more like a deposition than hospitality.

It was a HORRIBLE experience with the food, the drink are ok but so expensive
Food looks not original, bad presentation, and everything looks like if we buy to Walmart and put it in a microwave
Really bad

Caro, mal presentado, no sabor
Realmente nooooo!

Great Oaxacan cuisine, not to be confused with Mexican food! It is but there is not burritos in Oaxaca Wero! So many Mezcales and Tequilas, try the grasshopper or Memelitas my favorites!

Slow service. Waited more than 20 minutes for guacamole. Chips and salsa are so-so. Tlayuda was not what I expected, it was just a tortilla full of beans cabbage and cheese, with a tiny piece of chorizo on the side - I expected more than that and for it to be inside. Won’t come here again.

Great selection of Mezcal. We didn't order any food but perhaps next time! I loved the barrel aged mezcal old fashioned. I also recommend their mezcal mule. The tamarind candy was a unique twist!

Decor and restaurant interior was relaxing and open-air, but it was the food where I had a few issues. Their grilled chicken quesadilla was the star of the show, but three carne asada street tacos for $14 that were close to crunchy beef chips were what threw me off. Customer service was wonderful and understanding and accommodated our requests, yet I couldn't get over the high price to low amount of food ratio.

I had high hopes there would be a decent sit-down Mexican restaurant in downtown SJ, but this wasn't it.
