I consider myself very fortunate to have found Dr. Yu. Before finding him, I was dealing with chronic illness for a year and a half - seeing many local doctors, having countless tests done, and never receiving any treatment. I took a chance on a telehealth consult with Dr. Yu after finding him online, and from the first appointment, I could tell he was different from any doctor I’d seen previously. He started putting a treatment plan in place right away based on my test results from previous doctors, using a combination of traditional and integrative medicine. I’ve been Dr. Yu’s patient for about 6 months now, and every appointment I leave with at least one new tool in my toolkit to help treat and/or manage my condition. He is kind and compassionate, and never pressures me to do anything I feel uncomfortable with or add things to my regimen at too quick of a pace. Under Dr. Yu’s care, I have hope that I will continue to make progress towards better health!

How many times can you find an Integrative Rheumatologist that is a physician and patient himself?
My wife has seen a number of rheumatologists the last 22 years for Lupus and now Dermatomyositis. She found Dr Micah Yu online after doing research for an integrative rheumatologist. From her first virtual visit with Dr Yu until now, shes had very pleasant experiences. He’s knowledgeable and helping find the root of the problem. Not like others that just slap a bandaid on. He is kind, compassionate and spends time listening and explaining and really trying to get to know her issues. I can’t thank Dr. Yu enough for his comprehensive care. When I was told by the first rheumatologist I was able to see, my symptoms were merely due to being a mom, I sought out a second opinion. I found Dr. Yu and confirmed through colleagues he was the real deal. I was able to be seen promptly. I then became pregnant and we had to put treatments and workup on hold. After pregnancy when my symptoms worsened, it was going to take me 6+ months to get into a rheumatologist. Even with PPO. I turned back to Dr. Yu who saw me immediately, got the workup and diagnosis made. He worked within the parameters I had knowing how expensive treatment for my rare condition was going to be, supported me, and provided referrals. I will continue to utilize his expertise and recommend him to friends and my own patients. I am forever grateful that Dr. Yu not only believed me but fought as hard as I did for an answer, which to neither of our surprise - wasn’t that I was “just a mom” but a rare autoimmune disease. Wonderful! And so fortuitous to find him after listening to a Clint Paddison podcast with Dr Yu as the guest. He’s not only a bit of rock star but the perfect rheumatologist and what I had been hoping to find, someone with the training and background in science, microbiome and lifestyle. He’s super caring and empathetic and will partner with you to wellness. My former rheumatologist was not a good listener and used scare tactics to keep me on methotrexate. Dr. Yu has been just the opposite and has helped me off the drug along with other things that have come up in my bloodwork. I’m thankful to have found him and for his guidance every visit. I feel the best I have in YEARS thanks to Dr. Yu. I was diagnosed with Rheumatoid Arthritis years ago and had a difficult journey mitigating my disease. I struggled walking and getting out of bed even. Then I found Dr. Yu, and I can now walk without pain for the first time in years! He has helped me find a balance with both medication and lifestyle. He is very compassionate and is not one of those doctors that pushes you towards a specific path—he works with you with what your goals and needs are, telling you your options and the pros and cons of each. Bonus, I also see Dr. Mondala, and it is helpful that they work together to look at the WHOLE picture. That way any way my general or mental health is affecting my RA (or vice versa), the issues can be addressed from all aspects and holistically. Additionally, Dr. Yu and Dr. Mondala both also make sure to stay on top of and keep up with the most recent and emerging research, so they both help educate the patient as well as make sure they are as up to date as possible. I HIGHLY recommend both Dr. Yu and Dr. Mondala.

Dr. Yu was a life saver for me! He got to the bottom of my diagnosis very quickly after years of doctor appointments with no luck. He was able to clear the specialty medication that I needed with my insurance company much faster than expected with no issues. I appreciate his integrative approach taking lifestyle and diet into account and making those a priority as well, and follow up appointments are always enjoyable. With his help I went from excruciating pain every day to living a very normal life with minimal pain and I cannot recommend him enough.

Dr. Yu is a great doctor who gave me a second opinion for my ankylosing spondylitis. He's given me more pathways to consider on top the standard treatment, including a lot of information on diet, exercise, supplements, and general life with ankylosing spondylitis.

He employs a variety of tests, suggests supplements, and utilizes evidence-based medicine to help you reach your healthiest state.
