Mikuni at Fountains reviews
16 It’s my favorite place for sushi! But lately the quality difference of the food between when you dine in to takeout is huge! The avocado was rotten and the rice was burned and hard.
I’m very disappointed
Consistently good service and food. Nice to see that has transitioned well to the new site at the old McCormicks.
My experience at this sushi restaurant was absolutely fantastic there was sushi I didn't even know it's a lot better than trying grocery store the waiter was perfect on the order and she did my drink of soda when I sat down with my twin sister I was craving soda actually and she did it on the perfect time. The sushi was delicious too Bad I was full and we only had a couple left but my nephew saved the day. No leftover. The all different sushi was delicious and cook perfection good job on the chefs
Absolutely amazing service to fit some amazing food (a little busy but not too loud). I let my waiter Jacob know that I had an allergy and he was extremely cautious and did a great job communicating my options too his service was above and beyond I truly hope all the other waiters are as amazing as Jacob
Great food, clean place, very friendly staff. It feels like they did remodel inside, it’s like new.
My teammate says one of the best sushi you can ever have. I never tried here so can’t pitch in my opinion but I trust his taste. Give it a try.
Food was excellent. Service was excellent too. Place was packed, and the wait was long but for a reason. Try the "special scallops". Amazing.
I love sushi and have been going to the Mikuni on Eureka since it opened many years ago. I went with my parents today and there was a wait of 30-35, which can be common on a weekend. There open booths, lots of employees running around, and not much a hospitable vibe going on. It’s an attitude and it is likely an issue with management, but I haven’t had to search for sushi in a long time. I like trying new places though. I like places where the people care.
Another great dinner! Spicy tuna, salmon lovers, bobs roll, sea steak, 6 orders of salmon aburi 2 and dessert.
Dill pickles in our spicy salmon rolls instead of Cucumber was a super bad idea! Servers gave out rolls when the finally arrived to the wrong people and the noise level was unbearable
Hosts beed to do a better job at welcoming customers. We came in with our baby and the hosts looked annoyed that we brought a baby to eat. Aesthetically pleasing inside. We had a good server but food is 4/5
Everything has been excellent and food has been great with the dragon fruit Mojito! Ask for the Real Wasabi if u want a good zest wow & fresh pickled Wasabi Xtra but good too! Chef special vege style with crispy jalapeños!
Can't really share about the food as after waiting an hour to be seated, it was so loud inside we couldn't hear anyone at our table. Asked to get food to go. Was told to order at counter. Then was told it would be an hour wait just to order. I have never been here before and not inclined to return.
It was so nice to go to a restaurant and eat delicious food, have excellent customer service and have a great time. Thank you Makuni!
The food is so good! It was very crowded, but were told the wait was about 25 minutes to be seated. We were seated within 10 minutes on the outdoor patio. It was very pleasant weather, the landscape and pond with the fountain made for a nice calming view.
UPDATE: After Covid I’ve notice some inconsistencies. The hamachi aburi and the pepperfin don’t taste the same. I’ve had to return them. They seem more fishy and fatty. I don’t know if it’s not cut right or if it’s not as fresh. I also notice the construction of most of the dishes is not the same either. I am going to assume they lost the best sushi chefs during Covid and the new chefs weren’t trained by the best. Hopefully they can bring some original chefs from other locations to show them how to do it right. I also liked the atmosphere of the old location better.
This is my favorite sushi spot. I’ve been coming here for years. It’s always consistent and delicious. The staff is great. The atmosphere is great. It costs a bit of money but you’re paying for quality. Totally worth it.
