Miller Regional Park reviews
18Beautiful sunset today. Nice spot to drop your boat/pwc in the water. Turtle island as we like to call it is just across the river and down about 200-300 yatds or so. Very cool.
We went here to have a Celebration of Life Ceremony for a close friend/like family member that passed away recently. All of his children were there and quite a bit of his friends were in attendance. There was plenty of room and shade. We didn't have any negative issues. We will be back. Thank you.
The park itself is ok. They've reinstalled the homeless tent camp (which is a great thing the city is trying to do, even if it's doing it wrong), so parking is reduced again. But plenty of places to sit and enjoy a nice lunch outside.
If you love drug usage, needles on the ground, rows of tents, homeless everywhere and chain link fence then this is the place for you!
We launched our boat at the ramp near by so I thought I would share what I saw as a first & last time visiter……….
I had a great time with a friend on by the water, there was even a "Low Ridder" exhibit there. So many beautiful and funky cars there it was fantastic.
This place is a homeless encampment done right. There is a whole tent city here managed by an organization and kept perfectly orderly. The residents don't bother anybody and it's a lovely place to go unwind, fish, or take a nap.
Nice environment BUT Keep your eyes open and aware of your surroundings. Homeless and drug addicts are hanging around in the trees and parking lot.
Homeless people hanging around everywhere. They try to steal everything that's not permanently attached. Don't bother!
It's open, easy to get in and out of, bathroom was open.
The Dock is a little short, so when people don't know the common boating courtesies, it slows things down a little bit.
Used to be a great park to hang out with the family for a picnic or bbq. Now the homeless has taken over.
It was alright, the water was calm considering the wind, the beach and park were relatively empty, but it was the middle of the week. Sure wish folks would clean up after themselves, I wouldnt bring kids or dogs here, theres so much fishing line, hooks, worm cups, anchovie trays, and just general trash, that it kind of ruined the experience. The bathrooms were down, theres portapottys there. There's also a pretty fair sized "campground" thats developed just outside the park, so I would be mindful of locking up.
A few homeless, but they did not bother us. Went there to fish and caught what we were looking for.
Been going here since I was a kid. Always have fun here with the geese, fishing and boat watching.
LARGE park, with lots of space for jogging and bicycling, yet not as much playground equipment as you'd think, in my opinion. Lots of the park borders the water on one side. Marina access and boat launch are here also. Fishing is allowed from many areas in the park. Public restrooms are available during the day. Very clean park with very little trash to speak of.
They do a nice job caring for the homeless in the area by a group that gives them a controlled environment to be safe day and night as well as some shelter. This was awesome to see and does not affect park visitors at all. I thought it was a great idea and was glad to see assistance for the homeless.
I was surprised by the volume of "cruising" happening here, especially on weekends. From what I saw, those that participate don't seem to affect anyone adversely that I could see so I say "good on you! " if that's what you like! There is something for everyone here at Miller Park!
This park is in bad shape. The bathrooms are horrible! Theres only a few garbage cans so bring a trash bag if you are cooking there. The only good part is the water and being able to bbq and relax but other than that I wouldn't advise spending more than an hour or two here because of the bathroom situation. We used to like this park but I won't go back unless it's just for a quick visit.
We are going to this park every weekend. It's a very beautiful cleen park, but public restrooms weren't available. It's a problem, especially for children.
Wonderful place to visit for all ages and kinds who enjoy being with nature with green grass, trees, picnic tables, clean bathrooms (until vandalized), geese and ducks walking around, squirrels climbing trees, fishing allowed (bring permit) the view of a river is beautiful any time, especially sunset and sunrise, with the birds singing, it's quiet and peaceful.perfect spot to just get away without the headaches.
