Bistro Mimi's Cafe reviews
19Understaffed, and the food was definitely over priced. The waitresses and the host were nice. It's certainly not their fault that they are understaffed and over priced
Honestly I took my family out for brunch here and was pretty excited. Sadly coming after a holiday caused some issues, the service was backed up although it wasn't too much the restaurants fault - it did cause almost an 1-2 hr wait time for brunch.
I wouldn't recommend anything other than the new bread dessert they had but the price for a dish similar to French toast for 16.99? It's good but. Simple, good with coffee but not worth the price.
Went on Thanksgiving. The food was okay. The gravy was a bit watered down. Customer service was a 3 out of 5. Could’ve done better. Stuffing was over cooked. Maybe because they were rushing, it was packed. I’ll have to go another day and see if it’s worth it.
Celebrating a birthday. Waitress was very attentive to our needs. She kept checking in and asking if we needed anything else. The atmosphere was family-friendly and quiet. Really enjoyed my breakfast.
Will be coming back.
One of the best breakfast places here in Torrance. Maria was really nice and made sure we had a pleasant time. You will enjoy every meal in here it is a must try. Love Mimi's
12/26: Please don’t open the restaurant if you don’t have enough servers or cannot offer timely service. We waited close to 20 mins to be seated and another 30 mins before we left without even ordering as no one came to take the order. That’s a lot of time waiting with a 1 year old or even otherwise
Went to Mimi's on Friday, 12/9 around 6: 30p with my mom. In the front room, there were people sitting along the window, but otherwise, the restaurant was not busy. No one was working at the front to offer us seating. Once someone finally came out to seat us, he sat us in that last booth along the window. I saw three waitresses. One was standing at the counter, one had walked into the kitchen and the other one was at the table three booths down having a full-fledged conversation. NO ONE EVER CAME TO OUR TABLE. No water. No "we'll be right with you", No nothing. After sitting there for 10 to 12 minutes, we left. As we were walking out the waitress with the short, curly hair (who was still having a conversation with the table three booths down) said "Mary will be with you soon. " I was literally walking out the door.
I have spent many Saturday mornings at this restaurant (before Covid). I don't believe I will ever return. The lack of kindness and decency will not soon be forgotten.
We went across the street to Stone Oven. I highly recommend it. Much kinder people.
Atrocious food- how do they mess up eggs and berries? We were a group of 10. We ordered salmon and egg Benedict, Santa Fe omelette, and fried chicken and waffels. No one was particularly happy with their food. The ambiance is cabin style, fine, but the food is gross.
Mimis Cafe is usually a good experience but our Thanksgiving dinner was kind of a rip off. The food was good but not up to mimis usual standards. The food was not enough portions and half of the TG day menu wasn't available like they said they were offering on the sign. Way overpriced as well. I will never go back to mimis for Thanksgiving ever again. Sorely disappointed.
Service was really good, no complaints for that. My mom got the pancakes and she absolutely loved them. I got the chicken and waffles. I was not expecting the best fried chicken but it seemed hard to chew and cut. The waffle itself was decent.
I liked it because you could eat breakfast for Dinner! That's a win for me! Theaming is great as well.
It's a NO for me. The food and the portions are not the same. I won't be going back.
Like a quaint pub on another side of the world, Mimi's Bistro captivates any time of the day or evening! The casual atmosphere and award winning menu sets the stage for love, joy and happiness without end. Mimi's, you are the best!
Oh WOW! We are celebrating our 23rd anniversary. I am so happy we came to this restaurant. Super friendly staff (shout out to Mark), clean, great food. I'd recommend this location. Thank you!
We ordered 2 salads and then, waited and waited and waited and waited. I couldn't get a refill on my ice tea, then a table that came in 30 mins after us got a salad before us and we were told it would be a few more minutes. We left. The server only had 3 tables including ours and the one that came in 30 mins after us. I know help is hard to find but it seems they need more support.
We had an office lunch at Mimi's today, after a fiasco with Panera Bread. Maria is the goddesses of the waitresses, she got our order fast, made to perfection and was fast on refills of water. Maria is the reason why we are keep coming back to Mimi's.
Completely terrible staff from the waitress, the chef, and the manager working there. Mother’s Day was a complete disaster for brunch. The “tomato soup” was inedible essentially just chunky Tabasco sauce. Forgot our drinks, desserts, hardly noticed we were even there to begin with. No accommodations, and to top it all off they couldn’t find our receipt in the end and argued with us on what we ordered.
We had an event on Saturday morning, food was so great, and the service was excellent. Thank you Maria, we are definitely coming back again. Mimis has definitely not let us down
This score would be a 5 if the service had been as good as the food. It was quite when we were there, about 3 in the afternoon, and the service was below average. Both my husband and myself have worked in the hospitality industry so we understand some of the things that can effect service. That being said, the food will have us going back.
