Electrician Mirage Electric reviews
1 Initial call was great. I inquired about the installation of a Nema 14-50 electrical outlet for the purpose of charging an EV and Kurt gave a reasonable price, and quoted a discounted installation fee if I bought the materials myself. Being a picky consumer I went with higher quality material (industrial-grade receptacle, etc) for my outlet. All was great.
Fast-forward a couple weeks to the follow-up call after buying the supplies, and the experience did a stark 180. When Kurt quotes me the same initial price, I asked about the discounted price for buying supplies ahead of time, and he was adamant about doing the work for the initial quote. But what about the material that I bought already? I kid you not, his next response was “I can’t help you then, ” and promptly hangs up.
I was dumbfounded. I sat there for a minute just collecting my thoughts and really questioning myself on whether he just really did that. Did he really just end the call abruptly before I could suggest a compromise, let alone even respond to his last statement?
Minutes later I decide to call again. Maybe there was a legitimate reason? I don’t know. I kept thinking over it, and after the call goes to voicemail, I leave a pretty straightforward message. No anger or animosity was in it. I simply stated that I thought it was a little rude and messed up, and that I hope he can return the call to finish the discussion. I was just a customer looking for a simple installation.
Nothing. Days pass and I never hear from Kurt. It is now I realize how appalling the whole thing was. I’m not a man of many reviews, but given how unprofessional his response was and how helpless he made me feel, I felt compelled to write this. Kurt, if you read this, I hope you don’t pull that on other customers. That was messed up. There are other, less-douchey ways to decline someone’s business. And if you aren’t going to honor your word on a prior quote, then don’t offer it to begin with.
Anyways, that was my experience. Hopefully yours is a lot better than mine.
