Mission Valley YMCA reviews
22My baby loves the swimming classes at this place. We're moving out of mission valley and won't be able to keep coming here, but I recommend them to everyone
I love this gym! Have been a member over 10 years. The Mission Valley YMCA offers great classes with instructors that are helpful if you are new or a regular too. They have a variety of machines that you can use. Also, they have a cafe with friendly staff. I love their Kale smoothies!
My complaints are minimal there is no prone hamstring curl machine, crowded (like most gyms) few people work in or know gym etiquette. Go during off hours if possible.
Just want to share. I have just finished my Stretching Class given by Dinah. It is like a gift of life for me. I have had some arthritis and injuries in life and this class has given me a means to have a pain free week. It is noticeable when I cannot attend it! I thank Dinah and the YMCA.

Daughter had summer camp adventure and laser tag weeks here and she really enjoyed It compared to the Balboa camp cahito. For stating outside in the front she seemed to have a great time at all the various stations. They did offer drop off from 730- 9 in the morning but I had to drop off at 645 so I didnt get to take advantage of that but it's good to have that during peak hours.
The nicest Y in San Diego with an outdoor and indoor pool a d jacuzzi. Full range of cardio, but the weight room could offer more. Staff is very attentive and responsive. You get two free guest passes a year.
Ha, are you serious. I wish never mind. Just reminds me that this place is nothing more than a vacation spot and nothing more. The people where trash.
I like this place and all but me and my friends got kicked out for no reason out of the swimming pool by a fatty lifeguard soo it gets 4 stars
The cleanest, nicest, and best YMCA in the United States very fair pricing and it is non-profit so your money goes to help other families and people to be able to join a gym and live a healthy lifestyle.
It is OPEN DAILY ON WEEKDAYS FROM 4: 30 AM UNTIL 10: 30 PM.
Weekends close about 8 pm.
Very large olympic sized swimming pools, obe indoor, obe outdoor, with outdoor 10 person jacuzzi.
Small open cafe for coffee and inexpensive food/snacks with tv and charging ports for phone/ tablet xharging.
Good place, pretty friendly employees and guests/members.
A wonderful YMCA with an indoor in addition to an outdoor pool. Both are ideal for swimming laps and there are 2 hot tubs for total comfort. There is plenty of parking and national YMCA membership is honored.
This place is fantastic! Top notch weight room and fitness center. Numerous lanes for swimmers. Clean locker rooms and everything in between! They even have a small cafe for smoothies, protein shakes and breakfast snacks. Writing this review makes me want to go back and visit.
Extraordinarily disorganized. They keep either no records or terrible records. Sign your kids up for a class, good luck; even if you were first to sign up they may boot your kids in favor of someone who signed up 3 weeks later because they didn't keep track of the number of spots in the class. Nobody ever answers the phone, either.
The pools are great. Indoor pool is heated just right. Outdoor pool is very spacious. They have 2 small spas with a life guard on duty. Clean facility. Really enjoyed coming here often. Great for families.
Great overall facility and fantastic if you're a silver sneaker. The weight room is terribly small and uncomfortably jammed packed outside of 5am. Great if you swim as well but they treat the weight room like the red-headed step child they wish wasn't a part of the facility.
Great gym ir should I say fitness centre
There are approximately more than 15 swimming lines one indoor pool and another outdoor pool, an indoor basket field, two big group classes, a cardio room, stretching room, weight room, a spinning room.
You yes you can entertain yourself in here and they have really affordable prices too.
I tried the free 2 days per year the they offer and I fell in love with it.
There are two parking lots too
State of the Art for The Y.
My only major concern is the extreme frequency of times the Jacuzzis were shut down including no staff lifeguards available to monitor them and the actual monitor not working properly.
Massively cramped and unable to provide for the demand if strength training is important to you. At peak times even the cardio can be a wait. Excellent swimming facilities!
This location is a little small but very clean, and the staff is super nice! The reason I'm giving this Y 3 stars is because of the people that workout here. I've seen prejudice against transgender people occuring here on multiple occasions. I'm not trans myself, but on three different days now I have witnessed privileged middle-aged white women saying demeaning things about transgender people working out in their same vicinity. These people are doing nothing to them and they go out of their way to make them feel uncomfortable. I've also had older people at this Y be extremely rude to me and touch my belongings while I was working out. Honestly, I've been to many other YMCAs around San Diego, and the members here make it feel like a very conservative place. I would suggest working out at a different location if you want a more inclusive feeling environment. I wish there was more the staff could do to provide inclusivity and a comfortable space for all, but I understand they are limited.
It is a good place to workout, the only problem deciding what to do, swim, lifting weights, so many options.
While this facility offers most of the amenities of YMCAs around the country, it doesn't have a stream room or sauna.
