Mitch's Seafood reviews
22Was my goto for fish.last 3 times, halibut, yellowtail and the fish n chips, dry, dry, burnt. I'll try again, but not in any hurry:/
Great food, friendly staff, local beers, and an awesome view.
Octopus Tostada was perfectly done as was the Crab cake sandwich.
Tasty fish and chips for sure not to greasy that's important side were good and just enjoyed it the price was decent as well
I’m sad to say the food wasn’t up to par. We got the mixed basket, clam chowder and a sourdough baguette. None of the food was done very well but, I will say the service was outstanding!
You HAVE to go here! Best fish and chips I’ve had in San Diego and the crab cakes were amazing. Plus it’s a great view of the water and boats while you eat. It’s our new favorite spot.
The Fisherman's stew is amazing on a "cold" San Diego day. Mussels, clams, calamari, fish, white wine, tomato sauce, and a good baguette. It's great. The fish and chips are better than Point Loma Seafood imo. I always take my out of town friends here and they always want to come here first when they're back in town.
Best seafood in SD hands down. Hey fellas, if you want to guarantee a second date with the one your geart desires, take that special someone to Mitch's and order them a Crab Cake Sando. Guaranteed you get a second date. Taste factor off the charts!
You will never have such fantastic grilled calamari anywhere!
All the fish is always fresh.
I like ordering several (3) appetizers to make my meal. Portions are perfect. Excellent selection of beers.
Try going at around 4 for an early dinner.
Not quite so busy. A dont miss when in SD.
Best Poke I've had outside of Hawaii. This place is inexpensive and awesome food. Wish I had found it earlier on my trip.
Great food. The tacos were phenomenal. Open air restaurant and be prepared to step around birds. But damn, it was great!
Great food (changes alot). Wait help is awesome! Clean as can be expected with outdoor & birds around.makes for an Ok atmosphere! $$prices aren't real bad but hoped better! (paper menu &online different than @register) Long line most of time but means good food. We had almost all the different tacos! Coleslaw different than I've ever had but ate it.
Atmosphere & views are great! VERY casual.
Fresh fish tacos were a hot or miss based on the fish you got. Some great others just ok. But the side coleslaw was phenomenal! Thoroughly enjoyed trying various fish tacos. Seating outside is limited but a great view.
Amazing seafood. As fresh as it gets. All at around half the price of the same seafood at any restaurant or grocery store!
Location is Great, the grilled octopus was really good, but, the fried calamari was the worst, rubbery and fishy tasting. I always eat my leftovers, but not these. Experience was not the best
If you want fresh fish you must come here.every dish is made with fresh and delicious food. Love to visit this restaurant and the staff were super sweet.
Went here while in a business trip and while I'm not usually one to get seafood tacos, I tried three different tacos and they were all amazing. I wanted to go back the next day. Highly recommended
Probably more like 4.5 stars. Went for taco Tuesday/happy hour. Obviously was busy but line moved at a good pace. Fish was incredibly fresh in the tacos I got. Beer wax reasonably priced and was a good experience. They are a little strict on seating (understandably) since it's such a small place. It's a little bit of a wait for a table and if you aren't eating and drinking they don't want you loitering because there is always someone waiting for a seat/table. Even then I didn't feel rushed. And felt the urgency to clear tables reasonable. I'll definitely stop by this place again for a fresh fish taco which they have multiple varieties of. Cheers.
Definitely deserves 10 stars! Very well ran and operated. Small quaint restaurant, big on fresh and flavor. Staff was quick and knew how to get a long line of guests to the best fish tacos, calamari, and oysters. This is the place that makes me wish I could stay and visit Point Loma for weeks at a time. Fantastic beer choices. Don't forget to try this place for breakfast! Not a huge menu in the morning but what they do have is superb.
Mitch's is the Best! Their Fish Slept in the Ocean last night. Taco Tuesdays are the Bomb! $1.50 Tecates & $3 Buck Tacos!
