Miyako Hybrid Hotel, Torrance CA

Amazing hotel with good food options nearby. If you are too lazy to eat out, the Japanese restaurant is yummy too. We ordered a take out and have it in comfort if our room.

Love this hotel stayed here twice now every time we’re in Torrance it a must, very clean love the ambiance n the atmosphere and all the staffs are extremely nice friendly and caring, I’ll recommend to anyone that La visiting Torrance California

Clean rooms, simple, love the Japanese shower/bath. Breakfast is expensive but good, Japanese-style buffet. I wish the spa was open longer, 10-6 means working people can’t get in.

My partner and I stay here every time we visit southern California. The location is okay - everything in L. A.seems to be 30 minutes away, no matter where you want to go - but the rooms are stellar and so is the service.

Beds and pillows are very comfortable, the bathrooms are awesome, and the location is fairly quiet. The restaurant is tasty, though my experience with it is limited to one meal (so far).

Hotel is nice, staff is super friendly and service is excellent.

The miyako is a Japanese style hotel and is great if you want to try some of the Japanese culture without leaving LA.

The top 3 things I like are:

1. Staff friendliness
2.room size and cleanness, bathroom with hot tub and comfortable bed and pillows.
3. Japanese / western breakfast is full of healthy things to eat

The 2 things i consider not good because they are standard in 99% of hotels

1.internet speed under 3mb, impossible to work with and speed even drops to under 1mb tested at 4AM

2.charging 5$ for each package they receive from amazon etc, which in almost all hotels is complimentary.

Rooms were beautiful, and the bed was the comfiest I’ve ever had at a hotel. Gorgeous design and interior. Even the “budget” rooms have soaking tubs. Food was delicious, staff were friendly, great location. If I hadn’t had work commitments the following afternoon, I would have extended my stay longer.

The hotel was okay. It was disappointing to find out that not all hotel rooms come with a balcony as advertised. The room we had was on the second floor right outside of the elevator so the noise level was high. Also, the AC was not working so we had to open the windows. No problem there but you could smell the cigarette smoke from outside the hotel. Overall, the room was decent and bathroom was nice but not much to offer besides that.

We had dinner at Ise Shima restaurant located in the Miyako hotel. The restaurant is excellent with fantastic service. Un fortunately, the restaurant is not kid friendly. I would recommend only old people or couples visit the place.

The Japanese staff at the front desk weren't as friendly and helpful as you might expect they would be in Japan. However, I did see the same receptionist with the scowl change her manner and tone when a "real" Japanese guest came in. Hmmm. Service discrimination?

The hotel room was not bad, but for the price, not great either. As someone else pointed out, the room was dated. No toothbrushes, hairdryer and other amenities you might expect with a "4.5" star rating.

The gym was atrocious with rusted out machines from the early 80s complete with ergonomically awkward back extension machines. It exists just so that they can put it on their brochure - But I'm sure no guest would use it for anything other than to be amused by how kaizen could escape this one area for decades! Lol

The spa was so so, but Sae was wonderful! Like most spas in the US, the jacuzzi was tepid by Japan standards, so not good for me. But clean. The sauna wasn't hot or humid enough, and the shower controls are a joke.

One of the better things was the morning buffet! Thought $25 was pricey, but all-you-can-eat quality food! And the servers and cook were wonderful, as were other hotel staff (except that receptionist)!

But in the end, we were very happy because it had the one thing we longed for from Japan which is hard to come by in the US, that is 風呂 (Japanese bath)!

This is a great hotel. My wife and I stayed in an Executive King room. The size and quality of the room was on par or even slightly better than some of the usual chain hotels. The view of the city from the 7th floor was amazing. Their rooms have Japanese influenced large tubs and spacious walk-in showers, both of which were really nice. The toilets also have bidet seats as well. For folks not used to Japanese accommodations, you use you key card for the room door to activate the lights in the room. There is also a self-service convenience shop in the lobby. We will definitely return.

Pretty good environment. Just the WiFi is not good. I cannot do video calls for my meetings.

I've only stayed in one room everytime I've come by request and that alone should tell you about the level of service you'll receive here. Jeff, is amazing! Responsive, attentive and always ready to help I can't say enough about the staff and service offered at Miyako Hybrid Hotel. The rooms are very high value, considering size and having actual working balconies; that's rare to find in LA County without paying an arm and a leg. The location isn't bad either. Just far enough outside LA to get peace but close enough to hand a LA day and escape when you're done.

This is a nice hotel located in a decent area of the city with excellent service and nicely appointed rooms that have all the things you need to have a wonderful stay.

They want 100$ deposit for each day, you are accomodated. So, if you book room for 10 days, they will take 1000$ deposit 100$ for stay would be ok, but 100$ for a day is nonsense.

Superb Hotel with onsite Ise-Shima resturant open daily serving with all three meals. Relaken Spa and Fitness center.

I don't at the restaurant. The food is so good. The staff is so accommodating. It was an excellent dining experience.

The 7th floor rooms have a very heavy mildew odor. We were told they spent 12 days doing a deep cleaning so it’s very obvious they are aware they have a problem with mold and mildew but did not disclose this to guests (an illegal practice that violates building codes). The designated smoking area in the parking lot is right in front of the front rooms which reaches the 7th (top) floor where the luxury 2 bed suites are. We felt really sick the whole time we were there, subjected to both heavy mildew odor and continual second hand smoke) ; when we addressed our concerns with management they would not even offer to relocate us to another area of the hotel. We felt we should have been reimbursed for the poor quality of our stay, they did reimburse us for one night. I would never recommend this hotel to anyone but there was no apology or any sense of wanting to make it right after the horrible experience. I have stayed in many of the nicest hotels in Japan so this was especially shocking to be treated with such poor hospitality and subjected to such poor air quality which put our health at risk while we were there. I can’t recommend this hotel to anyone.
