Mo Ran Gak Restaurant reviews
16I was invited there with my wife for family reunion. We enjoyed dinner with Korean BBQ. They are known to serve the North Korean recipe foods and the quality meat. The restaurant name was originated from the famous scenic place in North Korea. People who are from North Korea are reminded of their home town in North Korea when they have meals here.
Enjoyed the cold noodle! The place is always packed with people. I had a great time. I enjoy their side dishes! The staffs are so nice!
Delicious meats, fresh greens interesting wraps. Very attentive service. Need to get here early to avoid long waits.
Favorite Korean restaurant. Every fish I've tried so far was amazing! KBBQ & Stone bibimbap is a must.
Mo ran gak is among the best Korean restaurants that I've ever been to. Every dish that they have is very good and you'll never be disappointed. I don't normally like cold noodles but I always get them when I visit. The quality of the meats that they use is better than other Korean BBQ restaurants. Mo ran gak has become my family's go to restaurant for any occasion.
This is the best korean restaurant in usa. Our family was so greatful about their kindness in every times. I've never visited like so kind, delicious res in usa. I visited many times though i am not kind of people. I definitely recommend if you want to try the best. Thanks all
Great food and service at Mo Ran Gak. Our server was quick to refill drinks and the side dishes. We were not rushed at all.really enjoyed our time at the restaurant.
Parking was bad before but it was much more ridiculous with the expanded outdoor dining area.
Always great food here. That's why so many people are always waiting to eat, and we don't mind the wait. It's worth it.
Mo Ran Gak is definitely the most popular Korean BBQ restaurant in Garden Grove. They're so popular that they have no need to set up a reservation system. First come, first serve, and you'd better be willing to wait an hour or more, so if you're in a rush, this is not the place for you.
My family and I ordered the Combination C (serves 4) and we were very satisfied with the quality and quantity of the meat. While we weren't completely stuffed like we had just eaten at an AYCE KBBQ place, the quality of the meat was definitely worth the price. All of the meat was marbled very well and our waiter cooked all of our meat for us.
The mool naengmyun is a bit pricey but each regular bowl comes with an additional small serving so it's definitely worth the price if you're eating with a group. The flavor and style of the naengmyun is also pretty close to Pyongyang naengmyun (North Korean naengmyun). For those who've never tried Pyongyang naengmyun, the flavor and seasoning is much more subtle and underwhelming but very delicious.
Waiting for over an hour to be seated definitely sucks but once you're in, the service is very good. Like I mentioned above, the waiter cooks the meat for you and will do their best to bring you whatever you might need.
Beautiful KBBQ set menus. Prices are reasonable. Their Kalbi (Korean short rib) and Neng-Myun (Korean cold buckwheat noodles) are a must try. One of my favorite restaurants in OC.
Food is well presented and tastes the way it should. Kudos to the kitchen for executing great dishes.
Very good food, and excellent service. There was a bit of a wait and there are no reservations, so arrive early to get your name on the list. It is both sit down and bbq, you can order cooked food off the menu or order raw meet and have them turn on the stove on the table. We didn't do the BBQ, we ordered off the menu. They frequently offer to refill your banchan (side dishes). The entree portions were GREAT. Steaming hot plates of food. I had the Naengmyeon with Galbi. Perfect. We also tried the seafood pancake and it was also very delicious.
Really, only complaint was the wait, but that's not there fault. This place is GOOD! I recommend giving it a shot.
Basically, the best non-AYCE Korean BBQ in garden Grove. Price is high for quality but not quantity. When you walk in, it's all Korean people watching the news and gossiping about Kim Jung Un.
The wait was long. Very popular place. The food and price was not commensurate. A little too expensive for good quality food. Not exceptional though.
I’ve been coming here for years and the Pyongyang mool nang myun is consistent and good. Things have changed a bit since COVID including the omission of the hot beef consumé they served, for free, at the beginning of the meal. It used to be so fun sipping on this beautiful broth while waiting for our food to arrive. I wouldn’t mind paying for it but they just don’t make it anymore. My bibim nang myun experience will never be the same without it. Also, the prices have skyrocketed to almost 50%. $10 dishes are now $14.70. Still a good place for a meal but not the same experience as before.
