Mobile Kangaroo - Apple Authorized iPhone & Mac Repair, Santa Cruz CA

I was referred to mobile kangaroo from Apple’s online customer service. My computers battery was aging and going dead quick and needed to be replaced. I brought it in and was quoted $65 for diagnostic check that would be put toward the $269 total for a battery replacement and it would take about 5-7 business days. That was the top end of my budget for replacement but I decided to go ahead. 5 business days later they call me to tell me my computer is working fine, but just needs a battery replacement. I knew that was the issue and the solution before I brought it in. The person on the phone then quotes me $369 and that it will be an additional 5-7 business days for them to get the part in. When I said that wasn’t my initial quote, they told me that the original quote I was given was for a different model of computer, but they were given the correct model of the computer from Apple before I arrived and had the exact computer in their hands when they quoted me their price. Also a MacBook Pro and a MacBook Air, which was the differences in prices do not look similar enough to be confused for one another with a basic knowledge of Apple products.

I decided to cut my losses and pick up my computer. Had I known from the beginning that it would be 14 days and $369 dollars for replacement I would not have taken it do be worked on. I am now down $65 dollars and I have the exact computer I dropped off with the same problem I identified before dropping off.

I do not recommend them and would recommend anyone to look at more of their reviews and go elsewhere.

Boy where do I begin? They are careless, dishonest and provide poor workmanship. When I went to pick up my MacBook Air, I discovered it had been dented. I asked to speak to the person in charge. The man insisted it couldn't have been caused by them. I explained it wasn't that way before and I wanted to speak to his manager. There was a lot of hemming and hawing and then he said email me his contact info. Later I received an email from him, but it just linked to a web form, where I filed a ticket that they never responded to. Even worse, beside my computer now having a dent, since they worked on, it continuously crashes. Normally I'd go back and ask them to fix it properly, but they are not to be trustred.

I was referred to this store by apple support after getting diagnosed by apple support that I needed a replacement battery. Mobile kangaroo charged me $65 for a diagnosis and kept my computer for 2 days. Guess what- I needed a new battery- they wanted to charge me $600!
I said thanks but no thanks I’ll take it to the apple store.
This store is a big scam! $200 at the apple store for the replacement!

I brought my macbook in for a battery change and they did it! Somehow the wifi and the trackpad got oof'd in the process, and they fixed that too (free of charge, and fast)! 100% great service. My laptop works like a charm now and I couldn't be more pleased. Will come back for all my future laptop woes. Quality place.

Once one of the workers there told me how easy it was to find the place, I had no problems. They kept in communication. Kept me up to date with what was happening with the repair. And, the repair was done quickly. Thank goodness. How does one survive without their computer.

They might do fine work, but first they'll have to actually have basic inventory and get their scheduling together.
Having made a reservation for a simple iphone battery replacement, with all the details provided and confirmed online, I arrived to find that they were out of stock for replacement batteries, wasting my trip and my window to get the work done. Since they had a reservation and knew ahead of time that they had scheduled a battery replacement, they could have at least been aware that they were out of stock and messaged me to cancel.
Meanwhile they are really hard to find - they provide the address of the complex they are in, but not their suite number (140), and they are located in the most obscure spot around the back of the building where nothing else is, and they don't answer their phone to provide directions, or do so in their standard email.
So, probably great staff, but terrible management.

They didn't know the answer to multiple basic questions about screen repair and parts.

Friendly, efficient staff Emily &Angel talked me through upgrade. The office was clean & they disinfected, maintained Covid rules.

Mobile Kangaroo is AWESOME! They saved my totally cracked iPhone yet again! With their kind and warm energy the staff was both helpful and present! I always feel comfortable as a non-tech person because the staff is so nice. What a relief- I didn't have to get a new phone! Thanks Mobile Kangaroo, you rock!

Ash and the team were great. They were informative and helpful. I will definitely be coming back for all my Iphone repair needs.

Angel was wonderful. My touchscreen had stopped working and he helped me get this covered under my warranty, I got a new battery thrown in under warranty, and they provided me with a loaner phone in the meantime. Highly recommend- these guys go above and beyond.

Great place to get your cracked screen replaced. Great service and same day repair. Go here instead of apple!

The staff especially Angel was very helpful, one of the best customer service. Gave me all the info I needed and some. Will definitely recommend for all your repairs across most brands.

I needed my charger port cleaned, as some dust and lint was really packed in. They cleaned it fast, less than 5 minutes, and it works great now. Very pleased.

Fantastic Service and Great Staff. I came in thinking my charging port need to be replaced and found it was only because my iPhone had dirt around the charger. Will be coming back here for any other iPhone issues.
