Modern Times Far West Lounge, Encinitas CA

Its pretty good if you want to stop by for good beer and bites. Food is all plant based but still was ok, we just tried the loaded fries with “carne asada” i figured later its plant based meat.atmosphere was good, mixed with retro and modern, beer was good, staff was friendly, restrooms were clean.what else you expect from a brewery branch. Also its dog/pet friendly.

Cool atmosphere and a big selection of drinks. Food is great and cost effective. Would recommend for sure

Very nice place with beautiful decor. Very friendly staff. Large selection of beers on tap and also large selection of beers to take away. More choices than other places. They also have a kitchen and the food was delicious

Excellent service, good food, and I did find one beer that I liked, even though is only available for 2 weeks. That since to be the case in most places around San Diego county.

LOVE LOVE LOVE this place! I finally found a place where all their dark barrel aged & other dark beers are all Vegan as well as everything on their food menu is Vegan as well! Parking is a little tight but we come here on Mondays & it isn’t a problem! Staff is very friendly & are knowledgeable about their beers & their food! Can’t say enough about Modern Times Far West Lounge in Encinitas!

This place has great Vegan food. Encinitas sure needs more vegan food, but as it is this is by far the best

My husband and I decided to try this place for his birthday lunch today. We were really happy with our experience. We’re vegan and were excited to try a new plant-based restaurant since options are slim in north county. We went in with low expectations and were very pleasantly surprised. Not only was the food delicious, the customer service was fantastic. The guy helping us was super nice and helpful and went above and beyond to make us feel welcomed. The place just had a great vibe. I would definitely recommend the food to everyone, not only vegans. Lots of flavor. We’re excited to have a new spot to eat on a regular basis:)

One of the coolest atmospheres. It's got 70s style on the inside and I really appreciate that there's more than just IPAs and a wonderful selection of sours.

Great plant-based menu. Excellent to go to if you're vegan or even if you're not.

If you like beer, huge selection of a variety of beer. If you don't like beer, avoid the Riesling. It literally tasted like totally off and I didn't finish.

Our favorite place in Encinitas and usually the main reason for making the drive to Encinitas. The food is amazing and the menu is entirely plant based, the beers are great, and the service and overall ambience is awesome. We’ve been here many times.

This is the best place to eat in San Diego! The food is phenomenal, my friends (who are not vegan) shared this place with us and my family loves it! I can’t get enough of their much wrap, my husband loves their smash burgers and my 3 year old son, goes wild for their Mac and cheese and fries. The food here is so good, and that it’s 100% plant based is a huge win!

Look I know vegan food doesn't always sound appealing, however trust me you won't miss the lack of meat or cheese. Add to that, the beer is excellent. If you're coming here for the beer, do yourself a favor and try any of the vegan offerings. This places is a go-to for us when we're in the area. That's coming from someone who has no issues eating meat.
