By far the rudest and most unprofessional doctor I have ever had the displeasure of speaking to. I’ve had my appointment pushed back twice and waited well past our appointment time both times, which I was accommodating and flexible for, only to be met with utter impatience while I was trying to explain my situation which spans back to November 2021; only he kept interrupting me before I could even get about 5 words out, insisting I tell him the problem NOW, and me having to explain that its all relevant to the problem NOW and if he would stop talking over me I could get to the problem at hand, but he’d rather spend more time acting defensive and arguing with me than letting me explain my situation and health concerns, which I would’ve been done with if he had just let me speak. I have NEVER met a doctor that wouldn’t let their patient explain their situation if it was pertinent to the problem, especially so they can be on the same page to know what we’ve tried and what has or has not worked to understand where we are at right now. I was still in the middle of treatment with my last Gi, who had been working with me for over a year on the same problem, but I had to stop seeing him due change of insurance. I wasn’t coming to this doctor with a new problem, new situation, but part of an ongoing situation that I was trying to catch him up to. I do not care that we spoke on the day before Thanksgiving. My time is just as important as any other patient’s as well as his. If he had better places to be he should’ve rescheduled, but as he assured me “this was his way, ” so I don’t think rescheduling would’ve made any different to his demeanor.
The one star I’m leaving (because I can’t leave zero stars) is for the admin staff. They are very on top of things and were pleasant to work with. I was honestly impressed with how proactive they are and they deserve recognition.

Called several times to schedule an appointment but no one answers the calls. Went to the office and it was closed. No notice at the entrance, so don’t know if it’s closed permanently or vacation. Waist of time. Called them for one week and no answer

De. Shakfeh was wonderful. Very kind, and gentle. The colonoscopy was done at Montclair Hospital, which also had wonderful staff. While I did not like the results of my exam, the experience was good.

Best Gastroenterologist ever.very friendly and attentive! I definitely recommend him.
