The staff at intake when we first arrived were very friendly, helpful and thorough. The Techs & the Vet herself were very caring and gentle with Hunter. They knew what they were doing and answered all of our questions to our satisfaction. It was our first time and here and we'd definitely bring him back to be seen.

My mini schnauzer and I had been going to this location since she was a puppy, for a total of 14 years. Recently, I made the difficult decision to euthanise my dog due to an ongoing and worsening terminal illness. My partner had made the appointment earlier in the day and upon our arrival went in to check that everything would be ready and to avoid dragging out the procedure any longer than necessary. He had asked that he pay then while I remained in the car with my pup, but the request was refused stating that they'd take payment later. That payment was taken while we were sat sobbing on the floor with our dog. No less than 5 different people entered the room asking for a signature, or a payment during our time there. Located at the front of the lobby is a notice with several candles placed in front. The Notice reads something to the effect: "when candles are lit please be respectful and keep voices down because someone is saying goodbye to their beloved pet". Throughout the entire procedure we could hear staff members talking loudly and laughing along the corridor right outside of our room. Not one doctor took the initiative to ask them to bring the noise level down. I am appalled at the overall lack of professionalism and respect demonstrated by staff members during such a difficult time. Since this incident, I have tried on several occasions to receive contact information for the director. I have also left my number with staff members and asked that I be contacted as soon as possible by the director, but have yet to hear back. I never normally write reviews, be it positive or negative, but felt compelled to do so because Lady deserved better, and because I want others to avoid having a similar painful experience.

Took my cat here for a UTI. She got prescribed the wrong dose of an antibiotic not usually prescribed to cats and it made her go blind. Permanently. Was offered a check up after she went blind for them to apologize. No refund, nothing. Avoid

This office is the best. Our dog recently got sick and they took us in a matter of minutes to help him out. They handled him with care and gave us peace of mind. Doctors and staff are amazing.

We took our cats for spaying and neuter to Mohnacky Hospital and could not be more happier with their approach, results and follow up. All 3 cats did very well post surgery, we received very clear instructions and the hospital's follow up calls just made it even better. Thank you for your care!

Doctor Souther is very kind and knowledgeable. It is apparent that she understands her field well, keeps up on her CEUs, and cares about her patients. I traveled from out of state to meet her with my dog, and am very happy to be able to benefit from her services.

My reasoning behind a one star and I wish I could give no stars is for a couple reasons.
First reason, I made an appointment 3 months to get a health certificate done for my dog for travel. Mohnacky said, of course they could do it. The day of her appointment, I arrive and after two hours of waiting they tell me they can't do it. Their reason was that months ago they had gotten rid of the ability to fill out that documentation. So, they waited until the day of to tell me they no longer could do it. Costing me thousands in travel cancellations for my pet and myself. When I approached Dr. Craig Mohnacky, as he tried to quietly sneak out of the office, he consistently pushed the issue to the vet techs instead of solving the problem right there himself.
Second reason for the one star review is, a week ago we had to unfortunately put one of our pets down. While this extremely difficult moment was occurring all we could hear was the employees laughing and joking very loudly outside our door. Even though they have candles in the front telling other people to speak softly.
This is an extremely unprofessional vet and I regret coming here for all the years that I have.

This review makes me sad in all ways possible and I’ll explain why. I brought my rabbit to be checked since his poops are completely different from what they used to be. It was a drop off so I didn’t have the chance to talk personally with the doctor. On the phone, doctor mentioned that he looked fine on the outside but that I should probably just keep him with hay and pellets.mind you he gets complicated poops with pellets involved but I just listened. She said he was good. I told her to please go ahead and try diving deeper since I’m pretty sure there is something wrong with him (they had to do an extensive cleaning of his bottom), they said they would add a fecal analysis to their testing but that’s it. I got his result, they were good meaning that there was nothing in his poop (they were looking for parasites). I checked on my bunn today and he shows exactly the same symptoms and already cleaned his bottoms again. No answer to anything that is going.im devastated thinking of what can happen if more time passes. Im very thankful for the receptionist Denise who was able to understand my frustration but now I have to find a vet ASAP.
Unless they do what’s right I won’t return.
Edited to add: they never called back to verify amount of gas drops for bunn. Had to check with an overseas vet. Overseas vet mentioned the bun had diarrhea and couldn’t stick to the diet suggested by doctor B. Bunny is doing much better, feel sad about not being able to rely on them in the future.

My Rottie has always been freaked out about having her nails trimmed. Brought her to Mohnacky and they were patient in dealing with her. Kylei was amazing to work with and made us feel that she truly cared for our dog. She took great care of her
Pricing was upfront and honest.

My family and I have had a few dogs over the last 15 years. We have taken them here. Pretty friendly staff. They are pretty knowledgeable.

Omgoodness they are so awesome! Made me feel comfortable so me dog was comfortable.my dog got spayed she is doing so good I definitely would take my animals there again.two thumbs up! Or 5 stars!

Terrible customer service! Had an appointment for my dog, at the time of scheduling the appointment I made it clear that my dog would be on trazodone due to being very reactive at the vet. We got to our appointment 5 minutes late but I did call the office on the way to inform them and was told it was not an issue. When we arrived, I was told that I could leave my dog there or come back in a few hours because there was no doctor on site since this was their lunch time. I explained that he was on trazodone, waiting for a few hours would mean the meds would wear off and leaving him there alone would increase his aversion to vet visits! The woman who “helped” me was indignant and could care less that I had drugged my dog for no reason since he couldn’t be seen. She didn’t even offer an apology as a courtesy. Rather, when I asked why he was scheduled for a time when the doctor wouldn’t be in the office when I made it clear he would have to be drugged and doesn’t do well with the visits all she said was “I don’t know since I wasn’t on the other end of that phone call”. Find a vet who values your business enough to hire front desk people who care about and value your time!

I have been a recurring client with my pup for 2-3 years now. I found them via a Groupon or advertisement and thought the appointment cost was reasonable and going over the charges before procedures made me feel comfortable.
Earlier this year my pup had two ear infections, 3 types of bacteria in one ear and 2 in the other. He needed to have numbing and cleaning, overall was charged $490 which felt high but reasonable. I went back in for a recheck up and additional shot within 30 days and spent another $170 or so.
Based on the service I received last time I went back in today and was very dissatisfied with the charges. My pup is no where near the same condition on ear infection as last time and I was quoted $470 for a checkup, ear cleaning, test (like last time), allergy shot and 1 medication. This time around all pricing has gone up $8-10 per step within the same year no less (these visits are 4 months apart), and when asked why medication was $120 I was told it’s vet preference. If I want medication alternatives I have to take my pup back and reschedule. When I gave pushback I was then told a different thing; how I get quoted the most expensive and then charges can change after the test. It seemed inconsistent to my past experience and I felt nickel and dimed. When my fur baby’s well being is on the line I don’t mind paying but I shouldn’t feel like I have to stress over the experience both of us will receive and inconsistent bill quotes. 3 stars because my experience last time was 5 stars but my experience this time more like a 2.

Not my Normal vet but happy to always find a appointment on short notice! And with saying that they treat me as if any other client, even though I don’t see them often! Excellent service and fair prices.

Really dissappointed. I was referred to Mohnacky of Carlsbad by a friend. The front desk gals were very uninviting and frowny! We met with the vet and that was good but then left with the vet tech to upsell us to $1000 worth of services when we were just there for vaccines. After declining the $1000 worth of services then took Bridget in another room to administer the vaccines while we sat in the lobby. Who knows if she got them, who administered them? We didn't get a rabies tag and when pressed they had to track down the vet to sign the paper saying that Bridget was vaccinated for rabies. This is important as you need this information for many reasons. We will not go back and wouldn't recommend this place.

Amazing care by the staff, Jordan and Dr. Souther. My female dam just had delivered 12 puppies two days before but needed emergency surgery for ingested foreign body. They took care of her and her pups even though it was towards the end of the day and Jordan took the time to teach me to tube feed are neonates. So, so thankful for them!

When I called about my pup's non-emergency issue, the person on the phone asked me when it was convenient for me to bring my pet in for an exam, instead of telling me what time/date to come in. I liked that; it was personal and customer-oriented. Upon bringing him in, I was given the option to sit in the waiting room, the car or to run an errand as they would call me as soon as he was examined. I liked that, too. The explanation from the vet was comprehensive and easy to understand. Thank you. This visit was a very good one.

Dr Zoran Djordjevic is a wonderful Surgeon and Vet! He performed a surgery to remove a cancerous tumor on my Girlfriends Labrador. He removed the tumor and had a really friendly bedside manner. The dog healed up quickly and is doing great! It is obvious that he knows what he is doing, is great with people and animals and loves his job. He under-promised and over delivered. I would highly recommend Dr Zoran Djordjevic to anyone in the North San Diego County area that is looking for a Vet or a Surgeon to take care of their beloved pet.

It's really hard to trust your baby with someone else, but I had a great experience and have full confidence in the doctors. They always answer my questions and concerns. The staff is great.
