Went to Monsieur Benjamin last weekend for my birthday dinner and has a wonderful experience. We called to make a reservation and to ask if they still had lobster. After arriving we were told that they were out of lobster. I was annoyed but our server recommended the second best thing and my husband and I decided to share the branzino. They also send out some delicious shrimp to make the birthday girl happy!

Everything was delicious and the service was great!

Very friendly people willing to accommodate a group larger than intended. The oysters were flavorful and the selection of wine was exquisite.

Our waitress with pink hair had a really poor attitude. However the tip is already included. Bad experience.

Excellent food and impeccable service. They have a semi-open kitchen, and it was a pleasure to watch them work. Like a well-oiled machine: every move is efficient and has a purpose. Highly recommend.

Love the sandwich options here for lunch. However, they have had issues locating my DoorDash order on multiple occasions. Still a great place to visit - I recommend dining in.

I ordered a steak and asked if it would be lean. I don't like fatty meat. They confirmed and I ordered it raw. It came fatty and well done. Did not even taste well. I returned >30% of the plate.they did not even ask but charged the meal in full.the manager gave me some irrelevant blurb when I asked.very unsatisfying experience

I’ve been here many times and have eaten a lot from their menu! My absolute faves are; Chicken Liver Terrine and the duck Confit! The Lobster Bisque, Steak Frites, and Foie Gras I’d delicious. French onion soup is top choice by many. They’re Banana ice cream and Pear Tartlet is very good too.
When you visit, ask for - Alicia shes the sweetest-
The service is best (although I don’t remember all their names but there’s 3 dark haired chicas who are the best!

Best to make a reservation ahead as there’s been times you can’t get a table but tonight walked right in

Severely overpriced and poor service. The quality of the food did not meet expectations for who the chef associated with is. Food came out room temperature, was too simple and the seasoning was flat. Waiter was barely present, which was frustrating for the automatic 20% tip.

We were here for brunch before the pandemic and decided to come back for a dinner celebration this week. Everything we tried was wonderful! The cocktails were delicious, the starters were great and the main dishes were impeccable - with the quail pie and duck confit as the highlights of the evening. The service was a bit slow, but they checked in with us often so we didn't feel neglected or forgotten about. Lovely experience!

One of the best meals I’ve had in SF in a long time. Service was good, food came out promptly and was absolutely delicious, beautiful open kitchen, and super tasty cocktails.

Four of us went there for dinner last night and enjoyed it. Attentive service and everything we tasted - scallop ceviche, crab rillette, duck, short rib, sea bass - were all very good to excellent. However, when we got the bill we were shocked to find that it cost $120 (including service) - you read that right - to open our two bottles of wine. When we raised this with the sommelier she very politely informed us that the corp.ties her hands on the matter, which kind of tells you how the place is run. All of which is to say that our decision where not to eat next time before the show is quite a bit easier, which is unfortunate.

Great modern classic! Seafood sampler! Cider on tap! Super fine dining without being stuffy!

My group walked in to grab dinner before going to the orchestra. The restaurant was almost entirely full, and it sounded like it had a long reservation list. The hostess asked if we’d be willing to sit at the bar with all the tables being taken, we didn’t mind. It wasn’t a long wait from there, and it wasn’t super loud. My companions’ shared the bass, and I got the steak and mashed potatoes. The mashed potatoes were super smooth, and the steak was so easy to cut. I got the “Raspberry Beret” to drink, it wasn’t super strong, sweet, or sour. My companion liked the red wine they had, and thought the bass was a bit salty. I saw the waitresses writing anniversary and birthday cards (presumably for guests) next to us at the counter. They seem to be up for celebration acknowledgments. The bartender served us complimentary Vermouth shots after dinner. They were spiced, yet tasteful. Overall, a nice and accommodating restaurant with a hefty price tag.

Great experience overall. French vibes with an american twist. The fish and souffle dessert both tasted delicious. We were happy with the service at our table and the wine suggestions from our waitress/sommelier. I would happily return to Monsieur Benjamin again to have the same dish.

Great spot. All of the food was really well done. It’s pricey, but it’s an experience that I think is worth it. I’ve been twice and loved it both times.

Don’t mind paying the 20% fee as that’s what I normally tip, but why do I pay tax on that 20%? Kinda lame. Wine by the glass is overpriced too.

Huge portions for mains! Monsieur Benjamin is a cute french spot that’s a little higher than Chez Maman in Hayes, with delicious french classics. Favorites were the chicken mousse terrine, the duck confit, and the croquettes. Service was however lackluster for the prices we paid - it took forever for us to get a server to order and we were frequently looking around for assistance.

Wonderful food and fantastic service! Perfectly prepared flounder with a marvelous sauce. Will definitely eat here again.

Update: a party of 4 last night. Again, wonderful, attentive service. Enjoyed ourselves. Still a great place to eat.

First-time visit post pandemic and the experience did not disappoint.y preference is to sit at the bar where you can see all and interact with the wonderful staff. When other establishments struggle to get to pre pandemic service levels, this place has remained consistent a highly recommend status. Come alone or bring the parents (make them pay).
